Sophia's POV:

I stormed out of the hotel, constantly checking behind me to ensure my companion wasn't following me. He wasn't. Part of me wanted him to, to show he cared; however, realistically it was never going to happen, as I made it clear I wanted to be left alone.

I emerged from the doors of the building, to a dark yet humid world. The street light's paved the way to the track, which I could run the layout, to clear my head. By the time I got to turn 4 though, I began to faze out of my mind. I felt empty, nothing inside of me. No happiness, no sadness, no anger. Nothing. I made my way around 'till turn 7, just before the back straight, where I couldn't go anymore. I lay down, hands covering my face. Tears burned through my face, and my heart ached. All of a sudden, I heard footsteps approach me. He layed next to me, his head was tilted up, staring into the endless abyss above us. A light breeze tossed my hair. I began to shiver between long and shaky breathes. I sat up, pulling my knees to my chest. His arms wrapped around my shoulder, pulling me in tight to his side. We sat in silence, as some silent tears continued to fall from my eyes. I could feel his glance occasionally look over towards me, making me see a glimmer of hope each time. His hand rested, palm side up next to mine. I smile a little. I intertwine my fingers with his, sending happiness through my veins. He turned his head to look at me, his dark sorrowful eyes to meet my bloodshot red ones. For a moment the lights turned off, the stars stopped shining, the breeze drifted away, the world stopped turning and it was only us. "Sophia promise me something" he whispered gently. I nodded slowly and subtly, staring into the space in front of us. He sharply inhaled, as he began to blurt out the words. "Promise me this will be forever." he said, his eyes focused on the same piece of tarmac as me. "I promise."

"Forever?"

"Always."

I still can never understand how three words could seamlessly erase all our broken parts; however, "I love you" dripping out of his mouth like honey makes me forget all the times he ever hurt me. I admired his beauty, looking up. His brunette curls partly covering his forehead. I gazed into those emerald eyes, wishing I could get lost in the emerald city. He looked at me, innocently blinking and smiled, and a shiver of warmth filled my body. A question invades my thoughts, tearing my attention away from his beauty. "What is it Soph?" he asked. I shook my head, trying to get rid of the thought, but it stuck out like a sore thumb. I felt his gaze on me as I looked down at the tarmac. "What would you do if I were to go to America on this business trip? What would you do without me? I'm curious: we don't spend time apart much that's all." I sighed, knowing I had to bring up this conversation. He cupped my cheeks, looking straight into my ocean blue eyes. "Close your eyes for me." he said. "What?" I questioned, puzzled. "Just do it, trust me."

I did as he wished. "What do you see?" he asked. "Nothing silly." I giggled before sharply sniffing. I opened my eyes slowly to see him close to my face, feeling his warm breathe against my face, his gorgeous smile upon his face. "That's me without you," he quietly whispered. Before I could say anything, his warm lips met mine. A sensation of need and desperation came about from both of us, as he pulled apart. "I love you, and I wouldn't dare try to hurt you."

"I love you too, and I know you wouldn't. I was just scared to tell you, and then you started talking about your friend-" I began to get worked up again, before Lando put his finger on my lips. "Come here," he opened up his arms again to let me fall into his chest. "You said yourself. She's a friend. No one can ever replace you my angel. As for America, we can do it together as a team, but we have time still. Let's enjoy the last race weekend, we'll still spend Christmas together, as well as New Year's. Then you'd be going off the America at the time I pick up my training for the season again. I promise you with my whole heart I'll do everything in my power to make it work."
