"Do you think he will call off the wedding?" Jamie asked.

"And then what? He can't just dump his fiancé and get together with me." I explained.

"Why not?"

"It's just wrong and cruel."

"Yeah, you're right. Sucks, though."

"You're telling me?"

"What are we going to do then?"

"I mean, he can either break off the wedding or marry her. In both scenarios we can't be together."

"Why don't you just come clean to Megan?"

"You think I should?"

"I think that you should be honest."

"I have to talk to him, then. To figure out how to tell her."

"Hi," Liam said as he walked into the café.

"Yeah, I think we should tell Megan about... us."

"Alright. When?"

"Really? No argument?"

"What's the point? I want to break off the wedding. Maybe it would be best if she found out and broke it off herself."

"You want to call off the wedding?"

"I realized you were right. She deserves more love than I can give her. We all do."

"So what? You will break off the wedding so that we can get together? Is that it?"

"Sure. Why not?"

"Because of everything!"

"Oh, come on, Maya. This happens in every rom-com. The two main characters can never be together for some weird reason, and then the reason magically disappears or they stop caring about it and then they get together, so let's get together, Maya! I mean, isn't love supposed to be stronger than the reasons, and if this between us isn't love, then what is? This is love, Maya! You can say what you want, but you know deep inside you that this is love! So let's do it! Lets be together!"

I was silent for a few minutes.

"Alright," I said.

A YEAR LATER

"Liam!" I yelled from the kitchen.

"Yes?"

"It's positive."

"What is?"

I shoved the pregnancy test into his hands.

"Oh my God," he mumbled.

"It's not yours," I said.

His face dropped. He looked up at me, shock and fear in his eyes.

My straight face dropped and I began laughing. "You should have seen your face!"

"Jerk!" He yelled. "You scared me half to death!"

"Well that was the point, wasn't it?" I joked.

"But you really are pregnant?" he asked.

"Yep."

"My wife is pregnant!" Liam shouted.

"Keep it down," I said. "Do you want everyone to know?"

"Yes, I do. My wife is pregnant!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Hush, you bug baby. Now I'll have two to take care of."

"You love it," he said, pulling my closer by the waist.

"I do," I said. "I love you."

"I love you, too."
