"Addie, when can I go home?"
"When you get better, sweetie."
"But I am better! I just want to cut!"
"What? Why?"
"Not like that. Well...no. Surgery wise."
"Oh. I know, sweetie. You can still go to work, just not cut."
"Because therapy sessions are considered going to work."
"No, you can still go to skills lab."
"Fun."
"Mer.. we are trying to help you."
"You....ok."
"No, what?"
"It's nothing. What did you do with that old box? I need to get something."
"It's in the spare closet. Why do you want it?"
"Old things. Like...diary's. Sorta."
"Sorta?"
"Yea just...can you...never mind. I'll get it later."
"Mer, is there something you aren't telling me?"
"No."
"You said that rather quickly."
"Well, it's true."
"Mer, I know."
"You know....?"
"About high school. I know."
"What?! How?! Did Jackson tell you!?"
"No, sweetie. You left the tape in."
"Oh. So..you didn't read those journals?"
"...I did. But not completely. I'm not judging you. I will let you do you."
"Oh....do you have a bathroom? Wait..stupid question. Where is your bathroom?"
"I will show you. But I'm staying outside the door and setting a timer."
"Why?"
"Because, I don't want you hurting yourself."
"I'm not, Addie!"
"That's good. But we still have to take precautions."
"I'm fine!"
"I don't appreciate the lying. What do you need to do?"
"....I was gonna cut." She murmured, barely audible.
"Oh, sweetheart." Addie embraced her small frame and held her.
"I'm sorry! I just want a release. I don't want to feel and cutting helps!"
"I know. I know. Why don't we grab some ice?"
"Why?"
"Well, you can hold it in your hand and still feel that jolt or you can rub it on your wrist without actually hurting yourself."
"Oh...ok."
"Ok. Stay here, Meredith."
"I will. "
Addie grabbed the ice and gave it to Meredith, then proceeded to lead her to the couch and hold her.
"Thanks, Addie."
"You're welcome, Mer."
