TW as usual.Meredith and Addie fell asleep on the couch. Addie had woken up with a really bad pain in her neck and shoulder, glad it was her and not Meredith. Meredith was doing better. Still not eating, and had a couple of times where she just wanted to cut, but all in all, she was better.
The dark circles under her eyes decreased in size due to the time she has for sleep, considering she can't work. Derek calls in about 2-3 times a day and talks to her, Addie afterwards. Addie told him about the tapes and journals after Mer gave her permission. She didn't have the PTSD anymore and it didn't bother her. She just didn't want the memories.
Addie carefully moved off of the couch to start breakfast. To her surprise, she got a phone call, moving quickly to pick up the noise machine.
She picked up the phone, not quickly enough though. Meredith walked in and asked who it was.
"Hello?"
"Dr. Montgomery?"
"Hunt?"
Meredith face went visibly pale at the sound of his name. He wasn't a bad person in her mind, he just brought back too much pain and too many memories that she didn't want.
"I was calling to see if you could come in? We have a patient, around early 20s. 28 weeks pregnant."
"Uhh Hunt, i'm sorry but I'm on leave right now."
"You are a double board certified, neo natal surgeon. You are the best of the best and we need you on this case."
"What happened to her?"
"Train incident. The train came tumbling into the car she was in. Crushed the vehicle, no other passengers. She has a brain bleed, multiple breaks and fractures, head lack, dislocated shoulder, her baby will be fine if you help this woman. We need you here. Not on vacation."
"I'm not on vacation."
"All the more reason for you to come in."
"Owen, I'm...I can't. It's serious."
"What's wrong, are you ok? Have you seen Grey?"
"Yes, everything is fine. I have to go."
"Ok. Bye Montgomery."
She put the phone down and turned to Meredith.
"Mer, sweetie, are you ok? You look pale."
"He was the doctor on my case." She mumbled in response. Barely audible to the red head's ear.
"Oh, sweetie, you're ok. We're going to help you get better."
"Yea."
"Why don't you help me make breakfast?"
"I...Addie."
Meredith started breathing heavier and scratching at her hands.
"Listen, calm down. Why don't we make a fruit bowl? It's healthy and it's good for your body. Also doesn't have many calories."
The young blonde nodded and took a minute to calm down.
"I'm ready."
"Great. What fruits?"
"Um..well...grapes?"
"Ok! And, what about half a banana?"
"Yea."
"Perfect. Do you like apples?"
"Mhm."
"Awesome. Do you want to help me put it together?"
"Uh yea."
"Ok."
Addie knew that giving Meredith some control over her food would help. Obviously, Mer needs more food and more calories, but this is big. A big baby step.
"Meredith, we have to cut the fruit, can I trust you?" Addie asked in a serious but gentle manner.
"Yes Addie."
"Thank you."
She handed Meredith a small knife and a cutting board.
"Why don't you do the banana and grapes?"
"Ok."
They both started cooking and putting everything together.
"Put those in here and you can eat in the living room."
"Ok."
She watched Meredith slowly take bites of her food.
"I can't eat the rest, Addie."
"Can you eat 2 more bites, please?"
"Yea.."
1....2...
"Good job, Mer! I'm proud of you."
"Thanks. Can I be honest?"
"Of course, sweetie."
"I want to throw it up."
"Oh, honey. Why don't I hold you until your body digests it? You can go to sleep."
"Mkay."
