He's going to come after me. The man I have recently known to trust, is nothing more than a vicious, repulsive monster. He's going to kill me.
Panic overwhelmed me at the treacherous thought.
I felt an unnerving shiver slowly creep its way up my spine.

" Not if you kill him first", a familiar whispered the complete and utter darkness.
" W-who's there??" I stuttered, swallowing hard. My breathing had increased and in panic I looked around to find the source of the voice.

The voice giggled in response. It was mocking me, as though a child laughing at a silly statement. I heard movement in the room and I froze. I could barely move.
I waited for a couple of seconds before scanning the room, listening to hear their movement. " Where are you?" I managed to choke out, my head tilted .

"I'm everywhere.." the familar voice taunted."
Suddenly i felt a cool, unnervingbreeze flow over me. "I'm  apart of you" the voice whispered in my ear. The voice had definitely belonged to a woman. I know that voice. I've heard that voice before.
My mind was rushing around it's highway, bambarded with thoughts crashing and colliding with one another.

A part of me? what does she mean a part of me? Is she going to hurt me? How did she get into my house? Who is she? My mind drifted into static.
Terrified at the situation before me, I had started to violently shake.

"What do you mean a-apart of me?" I questioned loudly, trying to conceal my fear. I was greeted with sinister laughter that echoed around the room.
" I can help you, you know. I can help you get rid of him" the voice answers, as though it was trying to reassure me; to gain my trust. I'm going insane. I must be hallucinating. Y-yes I'm hallucinating, that must be why I am hearing this, I reassured myself. However, I felt obligated to answer, as though it was my last resort to sanity.

"I c-can't. I'm weak! I don't have it in me to get rid of him!" I sobbed, tears streaming down my cheek. "I can't do it! Do you know what he would do to me?".
A moment of silence had passed.
"Maybe you don't, but we can do it together. You want to keep the baby safe don't you?" The voiced purred.
I didn't hesitate to answer, " y-yes! Of course! " I bellowed.
" Then you do exactly what I tell you to do ok?" The voice hissed.
"Ok", I whispered weakly.
I raised my eyebrow and suggested, " we.. we need to get rid of him, isolate him. But how?".
The voice started to giggle and squealed " We'll play a game with him! Oh won't that be fun!".
"A-a game?" I stammered.
"Yes.." the voice hissed before shouting happily "A game! ".
"O-ok" I hesitated as the voice started to giggle louder and louder before turning into a freighting laughter. It's disturbing, twisted laugh started to overwhelm me, as though it was twisting it's own laughter to appear more sinister to scare me. I was petrified. Too scared to move or breath.

Suddenly, as the laughter grew more violent, I started to sob quietly to myself and squeezed my eyes shut, hoping this reality of mine was just an illusion. Unfortunately , I was wrong.
The voice terrified me and I started to cry my heart out, as fear struck me. Do I sound like that? I thought. I lowered my head into my slim hands and stayed there, too scared to move. The voice starts to slowly stop laughing and became more of a chuckle. The voice felt so close to my ear I could practically feel their breath, as It said; " It's alright, don't be afraid. I'm here to save you remember? ".
I tried to stop sobbing , wiping away my tears as they fell, I whispered "Do you promise?".
"I promise" the voice purred in a chilly tone.
Did I sound like that? I need to save my baby.. I need to save-
I looked down at my stomach, rubbing the bump. I smirked and I whispered to my unborn child ; "Daddy's going baby.. and he ain't ever coming back".

6 months later

Shane

Ok. Do it. Just do it. I thought to myself.
Just go up to her and ask her out. Do it.
Don't be stupid! What are you doing? Don't just stand there drooling, go and talk to her! I mentally instructed to myself.
"Ah, fuck it. Here goes nothing" I whispered to myself, in attempt to gain some confidence.
I opened the cafés door and slowly walked to the counter. That's when I saw her. Her luscious black long hair falling behind her back. Her smooth pale lips and her painted pale skin glowed. I caught my breath, as I looked up to see her piercing Jaded eyes looking at me. Her eyes painted with eyeliner, coated in blood red and black eye shadow. I started to get hot and nervous.. God she was beautiful, I was lost in thought as my breathing quickened.
She raised her eyebrow and waved her hand in front of my face and said "Can I help you?" . Her face had contorted into puzzling look. Her voice was smooth so, so alluring.
I shook my head and squinted my eyes.
I looked down at the menu on the counter, trying to elaborate my next move. Skimming the list I finally managed to say." Umm.. y-yes I'll have a caramel cappuccino and a cheese and ham toasty ". My voice sounded a little husky.
She beamed " Yes, of course!", before writing down the order and stated " That will be three pounds eighty ".
I quickly rummaged through my pocket to get to my wallet and handed over the money.
She proceeded to ask "Are you eating in or going?", while pottering around the counter before finally putting the money into the cash register.
I nodded, for no reason in particular and fumbled my thumbs in a circular motion, and replied "Staying".
Looking around the counter nervously, I looked up at her and asked " Do u need to know the number of the table I'm sitting in, for my order? " .
She looked over the counter around the tables, at the deserted Café.
Her lips twitched and a curled smile appeared as she said "I'm sure I'll manage to find you". She then winks at me and turns to make my order.

I awkwardly made my way to a table close to me and sat down. Slowly taking in a deep breath ,I looked around my surroundings. There was a theme of red and black modern furniture and wallpaper. It looked nice, as I started to let my eyes explore the walls covered in new and old fashioned posters. I wasn't knew to the scene, I mean I come here three times a week for the past few months. At first it was to study, but I found it hard during the day as many of the college students from town come here, as well as myself. Which is why I normally came here at night, so I could be alone. That was the plan originally, until I saw her. I sighed, I didn't even know her name but I've tried to ask her out for some time now, but I never managed to. I had faintly recognised her from my childhood, but had never encountered talking to her, throughout my life.
I started drumming my fingers on the table, trying to think.
Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap. It seemed as though it was endless .
I need to do it. Just get it over and done with now. Even if she shoots me down I just had to try, I thought.
Tap-tap, tap-tap.
I lifted my gaze to find her looking at me; I smiled. Her face turned red and she turned around and moved things around her to make her appear busy.
Small steps, I suggested to myself.

After another minute or so passes, she walked up to my table and gave me my order and smiled at me.
"Thank you" I said with a cheesy grin on my face.
She gestured a shrug and replied," It's no problem at all, just doing my job". She leans back and forth on her heels before turning around and hurried along, as she made her way back to the counter.
Scrunching my nose I grabbed my drink and tried to relax thinking of all the things I could say.
Five minutes or so, flew by and it was just me and her left in the place.
"Ahem".
I jumped at the noise looking at the girl startled. "Sorry you caught me by surprise" I mumbled.
She smiled and asked "d'you mind if I sit here? It's dead tonight so I get a little bored. I was just wondering if I can keep you company? I mean, if it's ok with you-" she rambled, gesturing her hand towards me, as she waffled on.
"Yeah, yes of course" I said instantly, a smile forming on my lips.
"My name's Shane" I said and gave her a slight smirk.
"I'm Ava" she replied smoothly.

"That's a nice name". I nodded, looking down as I tried to conceal a smile. I know her name now. I don't know why, but I see it as a huge improvement than just sitting here. Oh god, I sound so creepy. I'm not a stalker, nor am I obsessed with her , I mentally reassured myself, back to my previous thoughts.
She rolled her eyes and replied "Yeah I guess .. pretty boring though. So tell me about yourself, Shane". Her eyes widened for a second when saying my name teasingly.
I raised an eyebrow and leaned back in my seat. "Hmmm..." I mumbled.

" I'm nineteen, thinking about going university. But so far just working here and there at the moment. I'd say more, but I can't think of anything" I replied, chuckling nervously at the last bit.
The corners of her mouth twitched, as she replied," Interesting. Hmm.. well I'm seventeen going into my second year at college. As you can see I'm a 'waitress' although, I still don't get it and this job sucks" she says, as she air-quoted the waitress part using his fingers, as she also exaggerated the last bit longer. She sighed and goes on to say, "ok-ok it isn't bad, it's just annoying when I get college students, especially from my college, coming here. They're just so damn rude". She smiles shaking her head before carrying on; " I swear they getting worse lately. Like last week right, I was making the drinks and you know giving them out yada, yada ,yada and the next thing I knew someone shouted 'Goth' at me and then called me a 'bitch' and threw hot chocolate at me!" She laughed.
I gaped at her and raised my eyebrows and said "Wow, seriously? That must've hurt like hell. What a jackass".
She slipped her hand in the air like it was no big deal and chuckled, "Ah never mind, at least I smelt good all day, my hair was wet but everyone complimented the 'chocolate scent' I had so I pretended it was some new after shave or something".
" Have you always wanted to be a waitress or?" I prompted.
" Nope, actually believe it or not I want to be a writer, especially around crime. I don't know, crime just interests me ", she took a breath and asked "How about yourself?".

"Erm.. well I've not really decided on my career path yet. I just can't make up my mind".
I couldn't really set myself on track to my 'ideal' career but for the time being I'm bar tender at the Royrose pub not far from here.
Ava nods and leans back in her chair.
"So", she says.
"So", I copy.
"Do you wanna hang out some time? " she asks, with a wide smile on her face.
I couldn't help but to smile at her question.
I give her a devilish grin and reply, "sure, sounds good to me".
