Abbie
It had been a couple of days since I last seen Ava and was nearing the day of mine and Jake's date. I didn't think about it much as I had a lot on my mind lately, with everything with Ava and all.
I did what I promised and kept her secret, but she has completely locked herself away from society and refuses to leave her house.
I didn't know what to do, I was completely lost. I'm wondering if I have missed my window of opportunity to accuse him, but perhaps I shall wait.
For now I'm sitting in the café, with Michael, Quin, Akesha and Jason.
"So Mike, what's going on? Have you heard anything from Kevin?" Jason asked Michael curiously.
Michaels face scrunched up in disgust at the sound of Kevin's name.
" That man, is a waste of space. People aren't what they seem to be no more" Michael spat, as he put his arm around Quin protectively.
Jason chucked and put his hands up in defeat and coolly replied, " I was only asking, you don't need to get so worked up mate".
I raised my eyebrow at Michaels hostility towards the man whom use to be a close friend.
"So, where is Kevin now?" I asked everyone.
Akesha shrugged and the rest fell silent.
"The last I heard, he was at the park with Jason and Jake the other day" Akesha stated.
I looked at her curiously, due to what I saw the other night and wondered how she could act so casual around Jason as though they were only friends."What did he say to you?" Michael asked , cocking his head to the right.
In reply Jason shrugged and smoothly stated, "Nothing you don't already know".
Michael screwed up his lips slightly, but immediately relaxed when Quin placed her hand on his arm.
"You all know what he did right?" Quin asked quietly.
Jason bowed his head slightly, as I swallowed hard at the question and nodded, as did Akesha.
"It was terrible, I could never imagine that Kevin was like that" I replied to the question at hand, trying to grasp this idea that surrounded Kevin. I never thought that he was capable of such things and the likelihood of Kevin or Michael resenting each other was truly bizarre.
"I think he's the one stalking-" Quin stated, however I interrupted her, "Shut up, she doesn't want anyone to know".
Akesha made a slight buzzing sound, before smacking Quin slightly on the arm.
"Ow! Come on you know I'm right! " Quin screeched loudly.
"What are you guys talking about?" Jason asked curiously, raising his brow.
"It's nothing", I said quickly in reply.Suddenly, the bell on the door rang and Mr Macquarie walked inside. With a quick grunt, he shook his wet umbrella at the door and walked further into the fresh hold.
He looked up towards us and gave us his best, pearly white charming smile.
"Hey kids, your all staying out of trouble aren't you? " He greeted us with a slight wink of his left wise eye.We nodded in union at his question, as we all fell silent due to his presence.
He clapped his hands together, rubbing themand cheerfully asked, "You all don't mind me sitting with you all. Do you?". The corners of his mouth curled into a thin smile.
I smiled brightly at him and replied, "Of course you can sit with us!".
In response to my reply, he nodded his head slightly and walked over to the counter.
Jason’s smile faded quickly as his head snapped quickly towards me. "What the hell Abbie! Why would you invite him to sit with us?" He quietly hissed at me.
I was taken back slightly by the negative outburst.
I leaned forward and placed my hands on the table and calmly stated, " Listen here, JasonI didn't invite him, d to sit with us. What did you expect me to say?".
He pursed his lips at me in thought. As he was about to reply to me, Akesha interrupted him, " Don't you dare talk to her that way! What's with you lately? "She shook her head at him disapprovingly.
Jason’s face flared red with embarrassment from Akesha's outburst towards him.Suddenly something brushed the side of me that made me jump slightly, as my lips let out a squeal.
I looked to see who it was, only to find Mr Macquarie smiling brightly at me.
"How are you Abbie?" He asked me, leaning slightly towards me.
I gave him a weak smile and replied nervously, "I'm fine thank you".
Michael coughed slightly, " So, Mr Macquarie have you found any leads towards Kevin?".
In reply Mr.Macquire shook his head and said, " Sorry Mike".
Pauls father looked towards Jason and asked, "How have you been Jase?".
"Great. How's business going?" Jason asked.
"Not so great at the moment, we've been a bit busy lately. Have any of you seen the young Amy? I'm afraid I need to talk to her father".
I shrugged as did some of the others. Quickly Quin stated, " She's been a little busy with her girlfriend sir ".
Mr Macquarie stated politely, " No need to talk formally with me, please you can call me Patrick if you like".
"If you don't mind me asking, why is it so urgent to talk to Amy's dad?" , asked Michael curiously.
"That's official police business" stated Mr Macquarie.
