New assignment

                   Staring in the mirror you can help but admire how far you've come; It's been three years since the avengers rescued you from Hell, aka the eastern United States hydra base where you spent almost four years being experimented on and tortured at, since then you have spent everyday training and learning how to use your new abilities hydra "gifted" you. After the first couple months you were "offered" a job with S. H. I. E. L. D. Which wasn't really something you were allowed to turn down, you were too powerful to be set loose, Plus you had no where else to go. Since then you're brown hair has been able to grow out of that god awful bob they forced you to have and now hangs below your shoulders. Your face is no longer hollowed out and ghostly pale, you could lay out in the sun all day if you could and your subtly tans shows it. You aren't very tall, coming in just a hair over 5'5, but thanks to your training you are lean and have some damn good looking legs. It wasn't A secret you were an attractive girl even if you struggled to see it, thanks to the dick guards at hydra that always made you feel likenothing but trash your confidence wasn't the best, but hey were getting there. Maria always says you resemble a Barbie, especially your eyes, huge, brown, and full of the thickest lashes there was no doubt they were your favorite feature.

           As you head toward the gym in head quarters you almost run straight into Maria Hill, Fury's Second-in-command. "Caroline! Just who I was going to find." she says with a smile,  "Fury needs to see you ASAP!" you let out a long groan " ughh! This early? That can't be good?" you ask with a questioning look, she just laughs and keeps on walking down the hall. Now you know you're no goodie two shoes but you can't think of anything bad other than your occasional smart-mouth that could have caused an issue? Hopefully.. Before you even have a chance to knock you hear Fury yell to come in. Deep breath, shoulders back and chin up you waltz in like you have nothing toworry about. "you wanted to see me boss?" You say with a grin. "hey C, good news. You have a new assignment. " he pauses with a smile on his face and laughs"congrats on becoming the newest avenger!" your face instantly falls "ohh shit.." -

            " Please nicky there has to be something you can do! I can't be an Avenger! What if they remember me? They'll think I'm weak! They will never respect someone they had to save!" you look at nick praying he'll understand and can fix this. "Sorry C, I understand why you feel that way but honestly you are over reacting. Going through what you did and becoming who are today shows how strong you really are. Hence the reason they voted you to become an avenger." he looks at you and you can feel now proud he is of you. Your relationship with Nick is one of a kind. After everything that happened Nick stayed by your side and helped any chance he could get. He's taken on the role of your big brother since that day in the hospital, he's the only family you have and you know if he believes you can do this you will try your hardest to kick ass! Sighing you look up and ask "okay so when am I supposed to leave?" the walks over to his desk and grabs a letter and hands it to you, "tomorrow you'll move on to the avengers compound, so that mean's tonight we're going out. Be ready at 8 C." "you got it boss" you give him a quick hug and head back to your room..

        Almost 1 AM, Nick and Maria have already called it a night and are already back to base, you know you should call it a night so ordering one more shot you pull out your phone to order an Uber when someone take a seat next to you. "whiskey, neat." the deep voice rumbles, you can't help but let out a laugh and ask in your most seductive voice "Rough night? Maybe I can help". He turns to you and looks you up and down, while smirking he says "I bet you can. " with a wink.

            
           BZZZZ BZZZ BZZZZZ. Ugh who the hell could be calling this early? "hello?" your voice still heavy with sleep. "Where the hell are you and why haven't you been answering my calls and- wait are you just waking up??" "ugh! Nicky stop yelling I'm fine, and yes I just woke up." you look around realizing your in a motel? Oh shit, oh shit! You steal a glance next to you and realize your not alone. "umm Nicky I got to go I'll call you back." hanging up before he has a chance to yell at you, you look at man laying next to you and the memories of your very interesting night come back to you. Silently lecturing yourself you order an Uber and slip out bed trying to hurry and get dressed without waking him up. "going somewhere already?" He asks in a husky voice, you look over and see gorgeous blue eyes looking hungrily at you. "As fun as last night was, that was a one time thing buddy, and unfortunately duty calls." you say as you hurry and slip your shoes on "well then, thanks for helping out." he says with a sexy grin. As you head out the door he yells "wait! I didn't catch your name?" you laugh and flash him a 1000 watt smile "that's because I didn't give you it." you shut the door and rush down to your Uber Before he has a chance to say anything.
