Part 48. Finding Family

Hi guys,

Here's an early update for you guys. This topic, although, was not a part of my orginal plan, but I felt like this character needed some much needed importance and the topic even more importance. Although I'm no expert giving the talk about the birds and bees but I've tried my level best.

Manik arrived at Nandini's house in the evening to celebrate Nandini's success with her family. He had stopped by on his way to get a cake for her which they could cut together after dinner with everyone. Chachi let him in when he rang the doorbell. He saw her run back to the kitchen as something was cooking and needed her attention. He couldn't find anyone else in the living room and so he followed Chachi into the kitchen.

Manik - Kya bann raha hai Chachi? It's smelling really good.

He simultaneously picked up a glass and helped himself with water from the refrigerator. Over time, he had become very comfortable at Nandini's house and didn't need Chachi and Nandini to keep offering him things. If he had a second home, this was it.

Chachi - Nandini ko aaj naan aur Paneer Makhani khaana tha. Aur aaj toh uski saari wishes poori karni hi thi. Isiliye maine saath mein Black Dal aur Jeera Rice bhi banaya hai. Tujhe bhi toh pasand hai na.

Manik - Haan. Sounds yummy. Waise main cake lekar aaya tha. But Chachi, fridge mein jagah hi nahi hai. Main kuch nikal sakta hoon warna yeh cake melt ho jayega.

Chachi - Woh doodh ka patila nikal de. Waise bhi usmein thoda hi doodh bacha hai. Usse main chote patile mein daal doongi.

He picked up the milk container and placed it on the counter and put the cake in the fridge.

Chachi - Yeh taste kar ke bata theek bana hai?

Chachi forwarded him a spoon with little of the Paneer Makhani gravy in it. Manik tasted it and loved it.

Manik - Yummy hai. But Nandini ke liye thoda zyaada spicy hai, hai na? Bland khaana khati hai aapki beti.

Chachi - Baat toh sahi hai teri. Main kuch karti hoon.

Manik - Waise Nandini aur Rishabh kahaan hai? Bahar living room mein toh koi nahi the.

Chachi - Rishabh ke room mein hai shayad. Dono pata nahi kabse baatein kar rahein hai.

Manik - Main jaakar dekhta hoon.

Chachi - Upar jaa raha hai toh Rishabh le liye doodh lekar jaa. Uske doctor ne kahaan hai ki usse acche se khilana hai treatment ke pehle kyuki uski treatment bohot difficult hai aur usse apni immune system badhani hai aur acche se khaana hai.

Manik - Theek hai. Waise aap kab jaa rahe hai Rishabh ki treatment ke liye?

Chachi - Monday ko pehli appointment mili hai doctor ki. Ab tak toh sirf phone pe baat ho rahi thi. Murthyji aur main soch rahe the ki Saturday pohoch jaaye taaki 2 din mile wahan settle hone mein. Aur Amms bhi Mangalore se aa rahi hai.

Manik - Good. Aapko koi help chahiye? Main car aur driver bhej doon? Aapki help ho jayegi wahaan?

Chachi - Nahi nahi. Hum manage kar lenge.

Manik - Chachi please yaar. Kabhi toh help karne do.

Chachi - Help le toh rahi hoon tujhse. Nandini ka khayaal tujhe hi rakhna hai jab hum yahaan nahi hai.

Manik - Aap kuch bhi bolte ho. Nandini khud hi apna khayaal rakhti hai. Usse kisi ki zaroorat nahi hai uska khayal rakhne ki.

Chachi - Woh toh hai. Par woh ghar par akeli hogi. Din mein toh theek hai par raat ko fikr hoti hai. Pata nahi akeli kaise rahegi.
