Part 51. A Born Leader

The weekend passed in a jiffy with Manik and Nandini spending a lot of time with each other but also preparing for their own commitments. While Nandini was busy with her usual studying, Manik was preparing for this recording on Monday. Cabir and Manik had decided that they would tell FAB5 about their decision about quitting the band after the recording to avoid any kind of drama. They didn't want their personal issues to affect FAB5's performance in the recording and they could wait a couple of more days to tell the others.

It was an early Monday morning when Manik's sleep broke. He spread out his arms to hold Nandini and go back to sleep but his arms found her side of the bed empty. He opened his eyes a little to see what she was doing and found her sitting on her desk, doing something on her laptop and talking to herself in a low voice. Probably researching for an assignment and taking notes. He then looked for his phone to check the time and realised it was just 6 am. He still had time to wake up. But unfortunately, he had a nature's call and he decided to go to the loo before he slept again. He picked up his pajamas from the floor, as a result of his late-night rendezvous with Nandini, wore it and went into the washroom. As soon as he came out, he looked at Nandini once again who looked so adorable in his Captain America T-shirt and shorts, sitting cross legged on the chair, with her hair tied up in a messy bun. She was still too engrossed in her laptop to even notice that he was awake.

Nandini, on the other hand, was busy with a group assignment she had to submit today. Apparently, her group had already finished the assignment on Friday but over the weekend, someone from her team realised that they had gotten a major calculation wrong and they needed to redo the whole calculation all over again to get the right answer and since the submission was on the same day, her whole team of five people were on video call trying to brainstorm on the solution since the past one hour. She was too engrossed into it to even notice Manik waking up and going to the washroom. And that's why she was even more surprised when she felt Manik come and put his arms around her neck and give her a big bite on her cheek.

Nandini - MANIK!

Manik - Good morning.

He once again kissed her on her cheek and nuzzled in her ear. Nandini immediately disconnected the call and lowered the laptop screen.

Nandini - Manik. I am on video call with my classmates.

Manik - Oh. I didn't know.

Nandini - Why didn't you tell me you're awake? They saw you.

Manik - So. Big deal. Usmein kya hai? I just kissed you on your cheek.

Nandini - Look at yourself Manik. You're not wearing a T-shirt. Kapde hi kyu pehne hai. There are 3 other girls who saw you like this on video call. And your pajamas are so low.

She pinched his non-existent love handles trying to show him how indecently he was wearing his pajamas.

Manik - Haan so let them enjoy the view. Saara pyaar toh tumhe hi mil raha hai na. Don't be so jealous, baby.

Nandini - Manik!

Manik - Arrey. But I didn't know you were on video call. Anyway, forget that. Why are you up so early? You know I have my recording today. You had promised to sleep until later. Just come back to bed.

Nandini - Meri ek assignment ka calculation galat ho gaya tha. We just found the solution. Tum so jao. I'll come in 15.

Manik - Pakka? 15 mins only?
