Part 62. Helpless Turmoil

Hello hello hello people,

How have you guys been?

I know a lot of you have pinged me about the next chapter. But I have been incredibly busy at work these days and have no peace and time to day dream and then write. But I was adamant to put up a part this weekend and have spent all of my Friday and Saturday to write this.

Please read and leave your thoughts as this is the only thing which keeps me going.

Also, I haven't proof read this or added the translations yet. Will do that tomorrow. Need to get a few household chores done right now.

The next few days passed in a flurry with all of them busy with their own respective activities. The FAB5 also had to prepare for their theory exams but all of them didn't care much about it. All of them knew that they would mug up everything one day before the exam and vomit it the next day. That strategy had worked for all of them since childhood and this time would be no exception either. They were rather interested in preparing for the Musicana concert after that. Dhruv and Alya had also agreed for the one last performance in Musicana too and it wasn't so difficult to convince them either. Ever since the Principal had announced the Musicana and also, since their college days were about to end, all of FAB5 had become very nostalgic and emotional about their last few college days. It was still hard to believe that they wouldn't be coming to college in the next few days and they would have to leave their comfort zone to join the rat race of life.

However, Manik was dealing with a lot of his own crap too. Firstly, he just couldn't get over the humiliation of the interview. No matter how hard he tried letting it go, it just kept troubling him. And just because he couldn't stop thinking about it, he had downloaded the app and learnt everything there was about that startup and now knew their business model in and out. A lot of times, he just felt like going back to their office and asking them for one more chance. But then his ego would kick in and he would tell himself that he wasn't going to go and get himself insulted one more time. He had some self-respect and he wouldn't want to throw the little bit that was left.

Another thing that was troubling him was Nandini. She wasn't being herself lately. On the surface, nothing seemed wrong. She spent a lot of time with him. In fact, she was spending a lot more time with him nowadays then she would normally do. They chilled together, watched netflix, went out on a couple of dates as well to distract themselves from their recent setbacks and even had sex often. But all the time she was with him, he felt that she seemed distant than usual. Like she was holding back.

She didn't talk to him as freely, she didn't joke around as much or even pull his leg as much. Whenever he asked her for her opinion on what he should do next, she just said she didn't know and he should decide it for himself. Sometimes, when he gave her his opinion on anything, she would just nod and say okay but eventually just do what she wanted in the first place. She had even stopped studying much nowadays. In fact, she was re-reading one of the Harry Potter books for the nth time and what was the most surprising was that she was doing it a month before her exams, instead of going berserk about them. She didn't even visit his house that often nowadays and only met him in college or insisted on them meeting outside. And for the few times whenever she was at his place, she had become a little formal instead of being as comfortable as she used to be. She even refused to take any help from the butlers even if it was for a glass of water. She had not even irritated him to make her favorite filter coffee for her for so many days and when he offered to make it for her once, she said that she didn't want to trouble him and she would make it for herself. All in all, her behaviour was really troubling him recently. He had even tried talking to her about it but she had brushed it off as nothing and told him that he was overthinking. But he knew her. Something was really not right. And the scary part was that she wasn't even telling him about it.
