Part 64. Bare My Soul

Hey guys,

Here's another update (and this time, I'm on time). I had so much work to do this weekend but I left it all because I had the urge to write and I wanted to finish it. I really liked writing this chapter as I was writing it and I hope you like it too.

P.S. - I haven't proof-read it nor have I updated translations yet as I need to sleep now because it's 5:30 am here and I have a Monday morning coming up! 😣

Manik was on his way to college but unfortunately, he got stuck in a bad traffic jam on the way. He was losing his patience waiting for it to clear. He realised that Nandini's break-time was almost over. He would have to wait for at least 2 hours to tell her this news if she went back to her class. He decided to call her and ask her if she could bunk her next lecture as he was really excited to share this news with her and didn't want to tell her over the phone.

Manik - Hello. Nandini..

Nandini - Haan Manik?

Manik - Are you in college?

Nandini - Haan. Are... are you here? 

(Yes. Are... are you here?)

For the first time, she was wishing that Manik wouldn't be around. She wasn't ready to face him. She wasn't ready to do what she had decided. She didn't want to do it. But then, she had to.

Manik - No. I'm stuck in traffic. Do you have to go for the next lecture? Important hai Kya? Can you skip it? I was thinking if I'll pick you up from college and we can go out for lunch? Or we'll go back to my house and spend some time together, what say?

Nandini - But aise suddenly? Did something happen?

(All of a sudden? Did something happen?)

Manik - No. I just have to tell you something important.

Nandini - Okay. Where are you right now?

Manik - I'm stuck near the Peddar Road junction. It will take me at least 30 mins to get to college.

Nandini - Okay. You're very close to your house. Why don't you go home and I'll meet you there? It doesn't make sense for you to come all the way to college just to pick me.

Manik was annoyed once again when she turned down his offer to pick her. But then, he didn't care right now because firstly, he was very happy to get his first ever job and he wanted to share it with her and secondly, he kind of agreed with her because he would have to go all the way to Churchgate, just to pick her up and come back again. This whole exercise would end up wasting a good one hour of both their time.

Manik - Okay. Come soon. I'll pick up lunch from our favourite Italian place on my way then. We'll have lunch together.

Nandini - Hmmm...

Nandini didn't know if either of them would have the heart to eat after she told him what she was going to. It was a good thing Manik suggested they meet at his house. She wouldn't want any spectators for one of the most horrible moments of her life. And she knew Manik wouldn't either. And to be honest, Manik and she always had kept their life very private in general. They had all their intimate happy moments in private and also their fights. And she was not going to break this relationship rule, even if it was the last thing she did being in this relationship.
