Nagito's POV

I woke up with a heavy blanket over me and the sound of a channel on tv.

I noticed that Hajime was sitting at the end of the couch, holding a mug and laughing at the screen. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. Hajime then lowered the volume of the television and placed down his mug on the coffee table.

"Good morning, Sorry if I woke you up" he said with an embarrassed smile on his face.

"Oh no you didn't." I replied, stretching a little.

"Here I made pancakes and I can make eggs if you like" he said as he got up and stretched as well.

"Pancakes is fine" I answered, taking the blanket off and properly sitting up.

"How do you like your coffee?" he asked me as he pulled out a plane white mug.

"I don't drink coffee but tea is fine." I said, playing with the blanket inbetween my fingers.

"Oh. Got it" he simply said as he started to heat up the water.

The memories of last night started to creep into my mind as I was waiting. And I remember myself crying on Hajime and saying all of the things i wasn't supposed to.

Even though I must've upset him, he still comforted me and calmed me down. I remembered him holding me in his arms as I fell asleep. And with that thought I came to the realization.

"Uhm.. Hajime.. Did you sleep uhh.." I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks however I didn't want to finish my sentence.

"What do you mea- Oh wait. Ohmygod no, I-I wouldn't uhm. No. I slept in my bed." I could tell that he was obviously stumbling on his words, and even from the couch I could see the shade of red on the top of his ears.

I chuckled at how flustered he got with that simple question, even though I was blushing myself.

After 10 minutes he came back to the couch with a plate of pancakes and a mug of tea and placed them on the table.

"I'm sorry about yesterday." I said to him, still fidgeting with the blanket between my fingers.

"Don't worry about it. I know that liking someone of the same sex can be difficult, it's not as easy as the media makes it out to be." he replies.

"Wait so you like me?" I ask him out of curiosity.

We sat in silence as he lowered his head, his hair falling over his face.

"You should eat before it gets cold" he simply said, turning away from me and changing the channel on the tv.

I bit the inside of my cheek and smiled. Although he didn't give me a solid answer, I was still happy for some reason.

I grabbed the plate of food in front of me and started to eat as we both watched some random program.

Hajime's POV

As he began to eat, I still felt my face heating up and myself sweating. So I got up to grab a glass of water in order to calm myself down.

I didn't necessarily know my feelings towards him. Even with some things he said yesterday, he was right. Friends don't look at each other the way that we do.

It was strange though because I couldn't describe the way I felt. Of course I've dated a couple of girls and guys before, I've felt attraction to them. But yet this was entirely different. It's like this feeling was something entirely new to me.

As he finished eating, he picked up his plate and placed it in the sink, along with his mug. He began to fold the blanket that I placed on him last night and tidy up the couch.

"You don't need to do that." I say, looking at him.

"Ah it's no problem. After all you did let me stay here so the least I could do is clean up after myself. I wouldn't want to ruin your amazing apartment" he replied as he straightened his shirt out and ruffled his hair.

"Do you maybe uhm, know what time it is?" he asked  as he looked down.

"It's 11 am why?" I answered.

He began to mutter to himself and frantically started to put his shoes and jacket on.

"Hey wait don't you want to at least take a shower or something?" I asked him with a confused look.

"I'm sorry Hajime I don't have time. I was supposed to be at work an hour ago fuck fuck. I'm going to get fired and no job is ever gonna hire me ever again oh no. How will I be able to pay for food and college and-"

I got up and placed my hand on his mouth.

"Nagito shut up you'll be okay. Here I'll come with you and make up some shitty excuse. It'll be fineee" I said as I threw on my jacket on top of my pajamas.

It wasn't exactly the smartest decision to go out in pajamas and a jacket in the beginning of december, but I couldn't let Nagito get so worked up and panic again.

We rushed out of my apartment, both of us looking like a mess.

The library was half an hour away from my apartment, but we took a cab and cut down 30 minutes into 15.

As Nagito frantically paid for the cab, he tripped while getting out and fell face first into a mound of snow on the sidewalk.

I giggle and I hold my hand out to him. He grabs it in a hurry and straightens himself out, then pulls me towards the entrance of the library.

We practically run in and get some questionable looks, however he seems to panicked to even care about them. He takes off his jacket, goes behind the counter and clocks in, grabbing his apron at the same time.

I spot one of his coworkers coming my way, I think her name was Kyoko.

Just as she approaches, Nagito stumbles out from behind the desk and grabs ahold of my jacket to keep himself upright.

"I am so sorry for being late, please forgive me. I was just-" he begins to explain but I cut him off midway.

"We got caught in all the traffic because of the snow, taking the train is such a hassle when it's snowing". I finish his sentence, making up some lie that seems believable.

I can tell Nagito is looking at me with surprise but I keep my focus straight on Kyoko, seeing if she'll actually believe it.

She scoffs and says,

"You know you don't have to lie to me right? It's not like anyone cares if you're late here anyway. Boss hasn't checked in for like weeks so I doubt they'll fire you."

I feel my mouth opening a bit, shocked at how quickly she was able to see that I was lying.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I see Nagito glaring at me but I laugh it off.

"Ah, sorry my bad." I simply said, smiling back at Kyoko.

"Guess I'll take my leave, text me when you're done with your shift Nagito" I said, turning to face him.

"Mhm" he replied, glancing at his shoes still refusing to make eye contact.

I grin and take my leave.

a/n: sorry this chapters a bit short! thinking of adding more POV's to the story but i don't wanna make it too complicated and drag out the plot 0-0
