Hajime's POV
It's nearing the date that me and Nagito are supposed to leave, and we haven't seen each other since the weekend but he's been texting me non-stop.
I can tell that's he's anxious about going, but I really hope that he'll at least have some sort of fun.
I finished packing the day I got back from Nagito's dorm. I, myself, was extremely excited to go to the cabins and spend so much time with him.
Its Friday, which means that we're leaving today evening.
I sit in my class, tapping my leg under the table, listening to the professor talk about about who knows what.
Just as he dismissed us, I instantly bring my phone to my hands and begin to text Nagito.
Hajime: Hey, you ready? I'll pick you up from your dorm in like 15 minutes :)
Nagito: i'm ready, lmk when ur close. (⁎˃ᆺ˂)
I giggle at the little emoticon he placed at the end of his sentence, and began to hurry my way back to my apartment. The trip usually took close to half an hour by train, but I decided to call a cab in order to make that 30 minutes 10.
I head towards my apartment, going up and gathering my bag, texting Nagito simultaneously that I'm heading out.
The cabin that I booked for us is actually an Airbnb, but it looked so pretty from the outside and even the inside. I really hope that Nagito likes it.
As I head towards my door, I mentally make a checklist of everything I was supposed to bring with me. After making sure I have everything I need, I close my door and head down to the main doors of my apartment.
I receive a text back from Nagito saying that he'll meet me at grand central, and so I agree and make my way there.
The weather in Manhattan during winter has always been either freezing or strangely hot, but this winter was definitely incredibly freezing.
The cold wind keeps hitting my face as I walk towards the station and my cheeks and nose become numb from the cold. I continue to make my way along, stepping in the brown-slush that's supposed to be snow. For some reason people always say that Manhattan is like a "winter wonderland", but I honestly couldn't disagree more. The snow barely even looks like snow and there's so many people out on the streets that it just becomes so unpleasant to even walk.
I get to the station at around 5:35 and I notice that Nagito isn't there yet, so I head to Dunkin' Donuts and grab myself a small coffee. I text him that I'm here while I wait on line.
Nagito's POV
I receive a text from Hajime saying that he's already at the station waiting for me and I recheck my bags and necessities for the final time.
Whenever I travel, I always seem to forget things that are the most important. It ticks me off because I usually spend more money at the destinations buying that stuff than anything else.
As I check the stove, windows and etc. I finally head towards the door and text him that I'm on my way.
Leaving my dorm, I notice a couple of my classmates laughing in the lobby, hanging out with their friends and probably making plans for break.
I sigh and head out the front door, looking down at my shoes to not make any eye contact with anyone.
Grand central is about 5 minutes away from me, which I assume is much closer than Hajime. I feel bad for not being there first and making him wait, but I shake my head trying to clear my thoughts. The last thing I want is to ruin this trip with my overthinking.
