Hajime's POV
The weekend went by pretty quickly, I spent my time lousing around and doing whatever I could to pass the time.
I still haven't gotten any texts from Nagito, which I thought was pretty strange. He seemed somewhat into me, at least that's what I thought.
The thought of our last meeting made me giggle. He's so clumsy, I remember his face when he realized that he spilt his drink on me. And I couldn't get it out of my head.
Eventually getting tired of thinking about Nagito and having nothing to do, I simply slept until the next day.
Nagito's POV
The vivid accident that happened on Saturday with Hajime hasn't left my mind, at all. It's like whenever I make the smallest mistake I cant stop thinking about it even if it was years ago.
After getting up, I checked my phone and to no surprise, no new notifications. The date read "Monday, November 2nd". It was still morning, so I continued with my daily routine.
After cleaning myself up and packing the essentials, I head out the door to the library.
My days usually all blur together since there's nothing special or different going on. However since I've met Hajime, it's like I'm waking up everyday wanting to see him.
Finally getting into the library, I suddenly remembered that Hajime put his number into my phone the other day. However, I was way too anxious to send him a text and for a minute I regret not giving him my number instead.
Once I put on my apron and go to the back, I try to send him a message. I first start off by typing a simple hello, but then realize that maybe he wouldn't know it's me. So I write "Hello this is Nagito." but then overthink it and decide that it sounds too formal. After 10 minutes of deleting my message and starting over again, I finally send him something simple.
Nagito: Hey, this is Nagito. You gave me your number the other day.
I place my phone in my pocket and continue with my work. But after a while I suddenly taste blood, and that's when I realize that I've been biting on the inside of my cheek this entire time. After getting some water, I feel my phone buzz in my pocket which results in a glare from some of those around me.
I turn off the buzzer and quickly check my phone.
Hajime: Heyy what's up Nagito? I've actually been waiting for you to text me and I was getting scared that you forgot about me 😕
I quickly reply, not wanting to be caught slacking off.
Nagito: i would never forget someone like you, i just forgot that you gave me your number. glad you replied so quickly though.
Hajime: Of course. It's not like I have anything better to do anyway. Whatre you doing now?
Nagito: just at work. you should stop by once u finish that book i gave you. let me know how you like it :)
Hajime: Will do! I'll let you work. Text ya later.
With that I turn my phone off and shove it back into my pocket.
"Look who's finally smiling for once. Did you get a girlfriend or something?" my coworker Lisa says.
"Oh uh. It's just a friend, sorry for slacking off" I reply, walking back towards my working area. I'm not necessarily scared of any of my coworkers, but I didn't want to seem rude to her. After all she does sometimes put in a good word for me to our boss.
Resuming my regular work, I start to hum to myself while sorting the books back on the shelf.
I continue with the rest of my day and as I finish I check my phone once again to see if Hajime texted me. However my blank background just stares back at me. And for some reason, I feel disappointed. I'm not sure why though. I finish up and head home for the day, making a simple meal once I get home and then going to bed.
Before going to bed, I smile thinking about me and Hajime's messages.
