Chapter Eighteen || ELEMENT

Hayes

"Wait guys don't move" Maggie said. Me and Hero-Lee turned around to look at her.

"I said don't move" she said. She was holding her phone up in our direction.

"What were you doing?" Hero-Lee asked.

"With the beach in the background and you guys walking it was a perfect picture. Turn around and reenact it" she said. We both turned around and faced the water till she said ok. We walked over to her and she showed us the pictures.

"Wow those are really cute. Send them to me" I said. They were of me and Hero-Lee facing the ocean and I had my arm around her.

We hung out all day at the beach and it was really fun. I got to have fun with my friends and girlfriend and they all got along. Well except Kristen who is rude as always.

"I'm really glad you came" I said to Hero-Lee as I faced her.

"Yeah me too. I mean wish your ex didn't come and ruin it" she said as she looked down.

"I'm sorry. I wish I could have stopped her" I said.

"It's okay. I still had fun" she said.

We got in my car and started driving home. Everything just felt right.

I really like this girl.

"So why is Kristen so mad that we're together?" she asked.

"I guess she's very possessive. Which is stupid because she was hooking up with a guy the whole time we were together" I said.

"I'm sorry that happened to you. Being cheated on is not a good feeling" she said.

"I guess you were cheated on?" I asked.

"Kinda. I mean not exactly but somewhat. But I think that's a topic for another day" she said.

I don't want to push her to open up to me.

"I just want you to know you can always talk to me about anything. But only if you're comfortable talking to me obviously" I said.

"I do feel comfortable talking to you Hayes, just that it takes a lot for me to open up to someone" She explained.

"I get it" the rest of the ride home was fun. We played music and just talked and got to know more about each other. When we got back I took her home then I went to my house.

"Hey Hayes" my mom said once I walked in. She was in the kitchen and Alexa was on the couch.

"Hey."

"How was camping?" she asked.

"Yeah did you have sex with your girlfriend on the beach" Alex asked.

"No Alexa I didn't" I said with annoyance in my voice.

"Be nice Hayes" my mom said.

"Well she always has to make dumb comments" I said.

"He obviously didn't get laid" Alexa said.

"Okay both of you quit it" Mom said as she walked over to the living room.

"So who went with you guys?" she asked.

"Just the usual people that always go."

"And his creepy new girlfriend lets not forget about her" Alexa said.

"Dude can you shut up you're so rude and annoying" I said.

"Alexa be nice. You have no place to judge people" mom said.

"Yeah so shut it" I said.

"So this girl is she your girlfriend now?" Mom asked.

"Yeah she is actually. I really like her" I said with a smile.

"You don't even know her" Alexa said.

"Okay this conversation has absolutely nothing to do with you so do us all a favor and go away" I said.

"Okay I've had enough of your arguing for the day. Both of you go to your rooms" she said. I went to my room and unpacked my bag. While I was unpacking my phone started ringing. I looked at it and saw Kristen was calling me. I declined the call and she called again. I sighed before answering.

"Hello" I said.

"Hey can we talk?" she asked.

"About what Kristen?" I asked annoyed.

"Us"

"Kristen there is no us. I have a girlfriend and want nothing to do with you" I said.

"I know you don't mean that"

"Yeah I do"

"Hayes you can't be serious about that creepy emo girl" she said and I hung up on her. She tried calling me back but I declined her call and blocked her number. I decided to text Hero-Lee.

To Hero-Lee: heeeeyyyy

She responded pretty quickly.

From Hero-Lee: Hey cutie miss me already?

To Hero-Lee: of course

We talked through message the rest of the night and it was great.

I really like her.
