Chapter Six || These Things Happen

Well I'm confused.

Did I say something wrong?

Did I upset her in some way?

Women.

"Hey Grier. So I heard you went out with that emo chick" Genesis one of Kristen's friends said.

"So? And she has a name" I said as I continued walking.

"Come on how are you gonna break up with Kristen and be with an emo girl. Did she put a spell on you?"

"No."

"Make you drink some sort of potion?"

"No."

"Did she-,"

"No Genesis she didn't do anything. Why is it so hard to believe that I could be into a girl like her? Just because she's different than Kristen?" I said. I stopped walking and was looking at her.

"Hayes who would be into her? She's fucking creepy" she said.

"At least she doesn't send her friends to me to question me" I said as I walked away from her. I walked into class and sat in my seat. Hero-Lee and I have this class together so hopefully she sits next to me.

I wanna figure out what happened.

Hero-Lee walked in shortly before the late bell rang and sat in a seat a few rows in front of me. There was an empty seat next to her so I got up from my seat and went and sat next to her.

"Hey are you okay?" I asked her since she looked a little upset and I didn't want her to be upset because of me. I mean this girl claims she doesn't practice black magic but you never know.

"Yeah I'm fine" she said without making eye contact with me.

"Hero-Lee if I have or ever do say anything that upsets you or offends you please let me know. The last thing I want to do is offend you" I said.

"Thanks Hayes. But....I think it's best if we just aren't friends" she said still not looking at me.

"Why though? Did I do something?" I asked.

"No. You didn't do anything. It's just best if we're not friends" she said before getting up and moving to another seat.

What happened?

Later after school I was up in my bedroom doing some severe social media stalking on Hero-Lee. I have to know more about this girl. She's very interesting and different.

I pull up Instagram and type in her name.

Hero-Lee Gonzales.

Nothing.

Okay maybe just Hero-Lee?

Nope. Nothing.

Okay let's try Facebook.

What the hell? Nothing.

So she has no social media? That's weird.

I mean she is different so I don't know why I think it's weird she doesn't have social media.

"What are you doing?" Alexa asked as she walked into my room.

"Nothing why" I asked while exiting Facebook.

"So I heard you've been real friendly with that new emo chick" she said as she sat on my bed.

"Ok Alexa nobody calls you a slut so what makes you think it's okay for you to call a girl emo?" I asked.

"Wow you love her" she said.

"And you seriously need to put some clothes on for a 15 year old" I said referring to her wearing little clothing.

"I'm at home. It's not like anyone is gonna see me" she said.

"Whatever."

"So what do you see in this emo girl? She looks creepy. And you know mom would never approve of her if you dated her" she asked.

"Who said I was trying to date her Alexa? And even if I was trying to date her, mom wouldn't have a problem with her. She's not judgmental like you" I explained as I continued my cyber stalking.

"Dude she didn't even approve of Kristen. And that chick was normal."

"Trust me Lex, Hero-Lee is way more normal than Kristen will ever be."

"Wow she has a name" she said.

"Get out I have to get ready for a party" I said as I closed my laptop.

"Ooh a party can I come?" She asked.

"No. You can't" I said. She got up and left and I started getting ready.

The party is lit as usual. Christian has a giant house and his parents are never home so his parties are epic.

"So you and the emo chick?" One of my somewhat friends Mike asked.

"She has a name" I said.

"You into her or what?" He asked.

"I mean I'm interested in her. Just not really used to seeing girls like her so she's interesting" I said.

"Say what you want but she scares me" he said before taking a drink of this drink.

"Yeah. But I'm still drawn to her" I said.

"Just be careful" he said.

"Why?"

"Because if she doesn't practice witchcraft like everyone thinks she does, then Kristen will definitely not like that you're with another girl" he said.

Kristen will make her life hell.

She's a bitch like that.

I want to win this bet.

But I don't want Kristen to ruin her life.
