Hayes

I have to be honest. I was a little scared.

I mean I just met this girl a couple days ago.

What if she murders me?

We were in a pretty unfamiliar place. I've never seen this area before. And I've lived in this city my whole life.

"Sooooo where are we going?" I asked again.

"Will you chill? We're almost there" she said. I kinda started asking myself if I should jump out of the car or see where we're going. But before I could decide we were pulling up to a beautiful scenery with a lake and mountains.

"Wow" i said as she parked.

"Beautiful? Am I right?" She asked as we got off the car.

"This is insane. How did you know about this? I've lived here my whole life and never knew this place existed" I explained.

"Well when you're home schooled you have a lot of time on your hands to explore" she said as she started walking in front of me. She was standing closer to the the lake than I was and this would have been a great picture for her.

"Don't move" I said as I pulled out my phone.

"Why?" She said as she turned around to face me.

"This would be a cool picture" I said. She smiled at me before turning back to face the lake. I took a few pictures for her and then walked up to her.

"These look good" I said as I showed them to her.

"Wow. You got a way with photography Hayes" she said.

"Thanks. Want me to send them to you?" I asked.

"Sure" she held her hand out so I handed her my phone. She did some typing then handed my phone back to me.

"I wasn't going to let you keep my number but since we're going to be film partners for a while I guess why not" she said.

"Speaking of, us that the reason you bought me here?" I asked.

"Yeah. On our assignment it said we needed a nice view. This is the first place that came to mind" she said.

"Well I think this would be an amazing place to film. What did you want to film about? All we were told was that it has to give a message" I said as I leaned up against her car. She walked over and joined me in leaning on her car.

"Call me crazy, but I really would like to do this video on depression" she said.

"Okay. Why?" I asked.

"Well I think it's something that's not talked about enough in a way it needs to be. Everyone makes jokes about being depressed but not many people know the real symptoms or how many people it affects or better yet how many people it kills. I think it would be great to enlighten all your dumb classmates" she said laughing at the last part.

"Hey they're your classmates now too" I said with a laugh.

"But anyway, depression? Sounds good to me" I said.

"Good. Because I love film and directing so if you would have told me no we would have had a problem" she said.

"Can I ask you something?" I said.

"Sure."

"I may be oversleeping a boundary here and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but is depression something you've dealt with? Is that the reason you want everyone to be educated so nobody else has to unknowingly go through it?" I asked. She took a deep breath and I got scared she was about to yell at me.
