Hero-Lee
"Do I have to go?" I whined to my mom.
"Hero-Lee you can't just go to school for two days then stop going" she said.
"Why? It sucks. People think I'm a witch and some popular guy keeps trying to be friends with me" I explained.
"Then be friends with him" she said.
"Me? Friends? With a popular guy? No thank you" I said.
My mom doesn't really know the reason I stopped being friends/getting close to popular boys. She kinda knows but not the whole story. And even though we tell each other everything, this is one thing I think I shouldn't completely tell her.
"Stop being such an emo Queen and make friends. That's what high school is all about. Education too obviously. But make friends" she said before walking away. I sighed before going back to my room to get dressed. I grabbed a Guns N' Roses shirt, black leggings and my studded combat boots. I did my regular makeup and put on a black beanie.
"I made you breakfast" my mom said as she handed me a plate.
"Thanks" I sat down and started eating.
"So tell me about this popular guy" my mom said.
"He's popular. He's annoying. He won't leave me alone. That's it" I said.
"But why won't you just be friends with him?"
"You know popular guys aren't my thing"
"I think popular guys could be good for you my little dark cloud" she said.
"I can't mom. You know what happened last time. Or at least you kinda do" I said.
"Yeah what happened with that?" She asked.
"I told you what you need to know mom" I said.
"Hero-Lee, if something bigger than you hooking up with a guy happened, I think I need to know"
"Mom. Trust me when I say you don't need to know this" I said. She got the hint to drop it.
"Okay, well I have to go to work. Have fun at school" she said before she left. I sighed before finishing up my breakfast and then getting my stuff to go.

Once again everyone was staring when I was walking into school. You'd think they'd quit staring. Like they all already know there's an emo new student. Why continue staring? It took me forever to find a parking so I got into the school right as the bell rang. I walked into my film class and sat in my seat. Everyone came in and Hayes sat next to me.
"Hey Hero-Lee" he said.
"Hey" I said quietly not making eye contact.
"How are you doing today?" He asked.
"Fine."
Hayes seems like a nice guy. But I also said that in the past and ended up being wrong. I'd rather be safe than sorry. The late bell rang and our teacher got up from his desk.
"Okay class I have an assignment for you all. I want you to partner up in a group of two and create a video. On this paper I'm handing out is the requirements you need to meet. Find a partner" he said.
"Wanna be partners?" Hayes asked. I looked around the room but then realized everyone already had a partner. And was afraid of me.
"Um. Sure" I said. I looked at the piece of paper we were given.
I've always loved filming stuff. When I was homeschooled that was my favorite subject. Obviously I didn't get much hands on assignments since I was at home by myself with no equipment but I did get a few film assignments and was able to borrow the film classes equipment. This was the only thing I was excited about when I was coming back to school.
"So when did you want to meet up to do this filming?" He asked.
"Um whenever is fine for me. I'm free all the time" I said.
"Okay. How about after school? We can meet up and figure out where to go?" He suggested.
"Okay" we each did our own thing for the rest of the class. I started writing down ideas for our project. Like I said I love filming and didn't get to do too much being homeschooled.

The rest of my classes were stupid per usual. It was the end of the day and Hayes said we could meet up but never said where or what time. So I was chilling by my car. If I don't see him within the next 5 minutes I'm going home.
A minute or so had gone by and I saw Hayes walking out of the school with a girl. I've seen her around school before. I don't know her name or anything. It's probably his girlfriend. It looked like they were arguing. Which was actually pretty funny to me. Hayes and I made eye contact and he gave me a smile.
Ew. Who smiles?
He stopped walking said one last thing to the girl before he walked away from her and towards me. She looked pissed. Again. Funny to me.
"Hey Hero-Lee" he said as he approached me.
"Hey. Maybe we should work on this project separately" I said.
"Why?"
"Well because your girlfriend over there has been giving me the death stare since you started walking over to me" I explained and Hayes looked back at the girl still staring.
"Who Kristen? She's not my girlfriend. And she's harmless don't worry about her" he explained.
"I don't know. I kinda see you two together though" I said.
"Well yeah we used to date but we broke up weeks ago. Anyway we're supposed to be talking about this project" he said changing the subject.
"Okay well we need a pretty as fuck scenery so..." I said as I opened the passenger car door.
"Get in" i said.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"You'll see."
He gave me a worried look.
"I'm not going to murder you" I said.
"Okay" he got in the car and closed the door. I looked over at that girl and she looked so pissed. I walked over to the drivers side and got in.
"So where are we going?" He asked again.
"Do you trust me?" I asked.
"Yeah. Kinda" he said.
"Big mistake" I said before I buckled my self and drove out of the parking lot.
