A/N: Alrighty. Here we go. I did not set this up like I did in the announcements chapter. That was intentional. That chapter was just meant to give you some idea of where I was going with all of it.

...Alright. Last one for this book. Let's ride it out together.

Y/N P.O.V.

Our work had been finished up in short order, our extraction team came to pick us up, and we were on our merry way back to Christophsis.

Everything was going just peachy. Absolutely nothing happened on our way back.

...Absolutely... Nothing...

Okay, we ran into a meteor shower and a pair of TIE fighters struggling to put out an SOS signal, but nothing too serious!

It didn't take me long to file my part of the report and be done with it, so I returned to my office/bedroom for the time being, and filed the notice that I was going to be gone again with my boss.

I do have some... matters of the heart to take care of, after all.

BD-1 hopped on my back, and followed me onto the Mantis. We took off and navigated our way back to earth. Once we had made our way out of the field, we began navigating through the city.

I make my way to the entrance to the Yokai World, and sit upon the bench, closing my eyes, and allowing myself a short nap. It's not long before I hear the sound of a bus horn. I open my eyes, and the monster I expected to see sits in the driver's seat beyond the open bus doors.

(Y/N) - It's good to see you again, Nurari.

(Nurari) - You too. You get what you wanted while you were in space?

I smile at him, and pull the box from my pocket, lightly flicking the lid open to ensure I hadn't forgotten the contents.

(Y/N) - That I did. I assume we'll be on an alternate route today?

(Nurari) - You would prefer an alternate route?

(Y/N) - You know of my destination - even without me telling you. You always have, and until the unthinkable moment where we part ways for good, I've little doubt that you always will. I think you know which route will take me to my destination.

He smiles at me knowingly. He knows what's in the box in my hand. He knows what I plan to do.

(Nurari) - Get on then. I'm not going to be here forever.

(Y/N) - Gladly.

Smiling and slipping the box back into my pocket, I board the bus, and take a seat as the doors close behind me. The bus enters the technicolor void, making a few turns along the path as we go. It was not long before we exited the tunnel, being stricken by a sweltering heat.

Kurumu said that the Succubi village was basically an oasis surrounded by sand. It would make sense that it would be a desert under the watchful eye of the burning sun.

Before long, the bus stops, and the doors open. I step off, slightly drenched in a light sweat. A warm, gentle wind blows through the canyon.

(Nurari) - This is your stop. The succubi here don't wear much on account of the desert heat. Keep an eye on their hands, not their bodies.

(Y/N) - You didn't need to tell me that last bit. I intend to remain loyal to my lady. No matter what happens.

(Nurari) - Smart boy.
