Chapter 27: Missing Data

A/N: There may be a few new points of view not seen in the prior chapters here. I'm just trying something new.

Time: Four hours later.

Gin P.O.V. Location: Yokai Academy 2F - Infirmary

After I woke up, and was told by Ruby to go to the infirmary, The sight I was met with left me with only three questions:

What the hell happened after I saw that mirror,

Why was Moka unsealed,

And what the hell happened to HIM?!

The Headmaster stands over a shirtless Y/N, holding his hands over his face. Several magic patches, hoses and wires are connected to Y/N's body. I don't know how, but I need to know. How did he get there?! The others seem just as confused as I am.

The headmaster emerges from the room, closing the door behind him, and not even skipping a beat, says;

(Headmaster) - ...The barrier has been fixed, but he's tearing himself apart over the method that had to be used.

I don't even have to ask, Moka does it for me.

(Moka) - Why? Why is he tearing himself apart?

He turns toward the silver-haired vampire, and gives us the details.

(Headmaster) - He has several mental disorders - likely caused by events from his past, each of which are playing a part in enhancing his current mental state. It's a miracle that we've kept him stable for so long, in spite of how volatile his mind has become.

(Mizore) - How are these disorders doing so much to him? I don't mean to sound insensitive, I'm not a therapist.

(Headmaster) - He's plagued by PTSD, slight traces of what could be split-personality disorder, potential OCD, severe emotional trauma, and Survivor's Guilt. He considered Moka and her outer persona to be two separate people - which in a sense, they were - and he cared immensely about both of them, just like the rest of you.

He points to me.

(Headmaster) - He has some trouble tolerating him, but it would be better on his conscience to have him around.

(Gin) - I'm flattered.

(Moka) - Don't think this means WE like you.

(Gin) - Dammit.

(Kurumu) - So what does this mean for Y/N?!

(Headmaster) - He considered both Mokas to be his friends. He knew that using Moka's rosary was the only solution at hand, but might be unable to handle it if one of them disappeared. That's why he was looking for an out. He believes that the destruction of the old rosary keeping the barrier in place could have been prevented by him having done something differently, such as capturing Lilith sooner, or employing a different strategy against his now-unlikely future self.

(Yukari) - So the self-blame paired with the Survivor's guilt is doing THIS to him?

(Headmaster) - No. No it's not just that.

(Moka) - Explain.

(Headmaster) - Miss Kurono had found him on the rooftop on the day that Miss Shuzen's bat had taken the place of a transfer student after that whole catastrophe happened. She got him to spill everything about his mental state: every belief of failure, every insecurity, every negative voice gnawing at him from the back of his mind. Because of what happened four hours ago, a lot of that insecurity and self-blame has come back in full force, and it's only made worse because he believes it's his fault.
