Lifting the bottle, I pour myself a glass of the vanilla-flavored chardonnay, and take a drink. Ramona looks up at me, trying to look irritated.
(Ramona) - So? What did you do?
(Y/N) - Hm?
(Ramona) - Don't play dumb with me, little brother. You had something to do with our parent's divorce, I know you did.
(Y/N) - One, I'm not your brother, and two, what kind of sociopath do you take me for?
(Ramona) - Excuse me?
I slam my glass down on the table. Not hard enough to break it, but hard enough to make her shut up. I look to the door on my left, and the hallway on my right, before looking at her, and responding.
(Y/N) - Between you and me, yes, your parent's divorce does benefit me. I don't get beaten for no good reason, because your mother and sister are too busy mourning, your father's busy getting broken in by his new girlfriend, and you? You're busy trying to pin blame. Your family was assigned to take care of me, and for eleven years, you all have done a rather shitty job.
(Ramona) - So you admit it!
(Y/N) - I admit to benefiting from your parent's divorce. I had nothing to do with it. You don't understand who I am, because you had no part in my life for more than ten years.
(Ramona) - So explain it to me. Why should I believe that you had nothing to do with this?
(Y/N) - Because I require outside motivation to do anything rash. Just because I'm going to benefit from an effect, such as your parent's divorce, doesn't mean I'm going to be the cause. I couldn't come up with a reason for them to stay together, because I was never given one.
(Ramona) - ...If you hate this place so much, then why'd you come back?
(Y/N) - Cause it's closer to my bus stop. I go back to school tomorrow.
(Ramona) - Oh... hey, Y/N?
(Y/N) - What?
(Ramona) - I'm not going to college. I'm going job hunting. Without dad, I'm going to have to pitch in just to keep the family from going under.
(Y/N) - Why not just move into a smaller space? It's not like it would matter, this house is way too spacious.
(Ramona) - What about you? The smaller space I had in mind would only fit three people.
(Y/N) - I've got several places to go. Besides, I've got a job, and a crapton of money in stockpile. With the way I'm going, I'd be able to retire in two years. I'm covered.
(Ramona) - ...
(Y/N) - I'll leave you to your business. I'm tucking in for the night. I've gotta be ready for school. The choice is yours.
I finish off the chardonnay, and go to my room. BD-1 hops off of my back, and lands on my desk, before folding at the joints, and going into low-power mode. I walk to my bed, and lie down. I close my eyes, and drift off into slumber.
What will this next year have in store for me?

BD-1 rests on my back. My bag is packed. My new lightsaber rests on my belt.
(BD-1) - (Well? You ready?)
(Y/N) - No... but we weren't ready last time, and lived to tell the tale.
