Kazeem's POV

What have I done? Why didn't I believe her?

Now she's gone. My parents are angry with me. My friends are ignoring me. I shouldn't have believed Steph. I should have believed Ebere when she said she wasn't cheating. I fiddled with the envelope she left my gift in. I haven't opened it. I'm not sure I should open it. After a lot of indecision, I decided to see what was in it. I opened it and brought out the paper in it. Furrowing my brows, I opened the paper and looked through it.

She's pregnant. Six weeks pregnant

How could I have been so stupid? I try her number again, but she didn't pick up. She hasn't been taking my calls since she left. I texted her again, hoping that she would reply. I went to her mum's house but she didn't let me in. She sent me away.

I would have done the same to me. I haven't treated her daughter in the best way since I married her.

I went to her office but Thelma wouldn't let me in, saying that she doesn't want to see me, but the receptionist said she hasn't been to work in five days.

Exactly the day after my birthday

Jude, my only way of reaching out to her is ignoring me and I'm running out of options.

I need to see her. I need her to forgive me.

I grab my car keys and rush out of the house, getting into my car and drive to her mum's place. I park outside the gate, I opened the small gate and walked in. Her younger brother was just coming out of the house with Ogochukwu. I walked towards them as they glared at me

"Good afternoon" I greeted

"Get out of my house" her brother ordered. His voice matching the expression on his face.

Anger

"Please let me just see her. I promise to leave once I see her" I begged, as calmly as I could

I have no other option than to beg right now

"She doesn't want to see you" Ogochukwu stated

"I know. But please, let me see her" I pleaded

"Remember I said that if you hurt her I'll come at you with everything?" Ogochukwu asked and I nodded.

A punch landed on my cheek and the weight of the punch pushed me back, making me stagger. I tasted blood in my mouth and I looked at him in surprise.

He knows how to pack a punch

He charged at me and punched me again. I received the punches, not fighting back.

I did not deserve to fight back.

I finally fell and he sat on top of me, rendering blows after blows. He was finally lifted off me, but he was struggling to get off. I sat up on the ground and saw Ebere, who had shock written all over her face. She rushed to me and began fussing over me, while I stared at her, happy that at least, I saw her.

"Kaz are you okay? My God. See your face" she carefully cupped my cheek in her palm, then began looking over my face. She removed her hand from my face then turned to Ogochukwu "Why would you do this to him?"

"I told him that if he hurts you, I would come at him with everything I have" then Ogochukwu turned to me with a hard glare "this is just the beginning"

Then he stalked off, leaving the compound. Then she turned to her brother "are you not going to school?"

"Get him out of this house" her brother stated, then walked towards the gate, opening it, he entered the white Jeep that was there and drive off, while Ebere closed the gate.
