The Court Date (Joey)

The next few weeks crawled by, but here we are the morning of the court hearing with Liz. I cant tell you all the different emotions I was feeling. I was nervous because basically the fate of the entire rest of my life and relationship with my kids and Bella stood in the balance. Angry because it even got this far, Regret for even going in that backroom with Liz that night let alone having to walk away from my Bella and kids so I can handle the outcome of it. Even with all that I'm hopeful, hopeful that the judge will see through Liz's facade and realize the truth. If the judge sees the truth I can go back and fight for everything I lost and Liz will never be a issue again. I was lost in thought when I pulled up in the parking deck of the court building. I swallowed the lump in my throat and silently said a prayer to go and asked my father to watch over and I headed in.

I quickly headed up the elevator to the second floor and as soon as I stepped off my attorney stood there.

"Joesph"

" Hi"

"Thank you for meeting me early."

"No problem"

"Ok so I was reviewing the case notes and all the evidence last night and we have Judge Simmons, same judge we had for your custody trial with Liz. So that will be in our favor. During the discovery process Liz's attorney didnt really have to much that would constitute a defense in my opinion. Ive have had several cases I argued against Liz's attorney so I know he strength's ans weaknesses so that is also a positive. What I am going to be asking from the judge is a permanent order of protection that will cover you, the kids and Bella. Im also asking for restituation to be paid to you in the sum of $40,000 to cover what was pain in her extortion. In turn if the judge agrees this will be over with with her she legally will not be able to contact you again regardless the situation."

"And if the judge doesnt agree and rule in my favor?"

"I really dont see that happening but if that is the case, I will escalate the situation and contact the district attorney with the evidence and more likely than not she will start criminal charges so if Liz and her attorney want to stay out of criminal court and the potential of jail time she is going to accept my settlement if not I will take other means. Now I know your emotions are raging but please let me do the talking and only speak if the judge speaks to you or her attorney. Dont speak to Liz, dont even look in her direction. If you do that and this goes like I think and plan on it ends today and you can go on with your life."

"I really hope your right, I need to go back and get back everything that Liz has costed me."

"By that Im assuming you're going back to Victor for Bella and the kids?"

"Yes if this works Im going to get the boys and leave right away and Im not leaving Victor without her."

"Well I wish you the best with that Joesph I truly do."

It wasnt more than 15 minutes later as I was returning a work email, I hear my name being called. I walked in and seen Liz with her lawyer at the other table. I wanted nothing more than to jump over the table at her but I remembered what my attorney said. 

"All rise the honorable Judge Simmons"

"you maybe be seated. We are here in the matter of McIntyre versus Sanders. I have had a chance to read over the complaint and both parties have representation present."

"Yes your honor."

"Alright Ms. Hayes can you please tell the court for the reason for his petition."

"Thank you yur honor, Mr McIntyre is here seeking the courts to step in and put a end to Miss Sanders repeated harrassment of Mr McIntyre and his family. Miss Sander's has repeatedly made threats to my clients significant other to now graduating to extortion."
