ONIKA MARAJ

Surprise.

As all odds beat my hopes of making it back at an appropriate time to carry out work with my client, not over a video chat, and too, the righteousness of seeing the inside of my New York home's kitchen, I would say I, myself, was actually ready to go home. That right there was something that I hadn't spoken into reality some I was a little kid.

One month had turned into two months and the only thing I could think of was how Beyoncé was certainly annoyed with me right now.

Everyone else were okay, I had a record of these long intermissions away from home, and work got done regardless with or without a few sacrifices, but this new relationship with Beyoncé, someone who wasn't used to my agendas by any means just yet, was pretty risky trying to juggle right now. It was only a matter of time before it started to bug me how I couldn't be there for her as she wanted and I knew it was bugging her way before it got to me.

Today, I had an early flight back, finally and I hadn't planned on telling her simply because I wanted to surprise her whenever I landed. Communication between us had been rolling over smooth, thankfully, because she didn't hold back on her emotions after so long. I wasn't letting it slip down the wrong path either, especially when I knew it could all turn sour with the snap of a finger. The distance, I could admit, this first unexpected gap between us had us both thrown, but I had my concerns with Beyoncé and for many reasons.

1. She hadn't been communicating with her friends.

I'd heard from Kelly herself about her recent mood over the last couple of weeks and apparently, she'd totally shut them out. The one time I mentioned it to her over the phone, she brushed it off, and from there, I suspected it was something wrong.

2. She barely was up for talking to me.

When I say I've been forcing the communication, I mean to the toughest dose. It was weird—very weird— yet I was aware it was something causing the issue. In the time that I had been making sure I spoke to her every day, I still respected her wants of space throughout the week. Only was it ever a problem when she was having one of her days, and they came and went as the hours flew by.

Those being a couple of factors, I'm sure the list rolled over into her productivity and so on. I was realizing now that I couldn't move about my schedule the same way I was used to when I was with someone in a similar industry who understood the time management. Not a lot had to change, but I most certainly needed to tweak some things and we definitely needed to talk. Face to face.
