Serenity's PoV
As the Kings guided us down the hall, I contemplated what on earth they were planning. I never really understood their ideas and just like Stephanie did, I followed their lead.
I never felt so elated in my life and now I have people who care for me deeply. It was an honour to even be in the presence of the king let alone courtship. However, here I was holding hands with his royal highness, King Ricardo Valera.
I was true, a lucky girl.
Both kings continued to guide us down the corridors. I felt my heart rushing with adrenaline and excitement but also a tad bit of worry. I didn't know this place very well and they could be taking me to a cell.
No, Serenity, don't think like that. He loves you just like King Wellfielde loves Stephanie. I mean they are childhood sweethearts. I just can't believe they've met before. I guess fate does bring us together in strange ways. I did after all meet Ricardo through a carriage crash.
I chuckled internally.
Eventually, after a few minutes of walking, we came across a door. It was the largest of all the doors in the castle. They were double doors that were blue stained glass with intricate golden swirl patterns all over them.
I've never been inside this room before. It was one of the two that Ricardo said was locked and was unable to get inside.
Ricardo said that it was because they were sealed off but as of now, I wasn't sure.
"I wanted to bring you in here as soon as you woke up, but it would've revealed who I was at the time. I hope you can forgive me." I nodded and eventually the doors opened automatically but I knew someone was behind them.
Once I got a chance to see inside, I was genuinely surprised. It was a room that would make anyone's jaw drop at mere sight.
Stephanie, however, didn't even look affected by how beautiful the room was. I then realised that she's probably been in here plenty of times to clean especially as she use to be a maid.
I was in shock.
It was a ballroom.
The ceiling was arched and in the very centre of the gold, intricate designs was a chandelier. The light shone in all areas of the ballroom and made a great contrast to the red curtains that hung in front of the windows. Apart from the tables around the edge of the room, it was pretty empty but perfect for dancing. The floor was so shiny that you could practically see your reflection in it.
At the far end of the room were two thrones. One was larger than the other. They both had a velvet red backrest and seat which was outlined in gold. Both armrests were also intricate gold.
"I hope that one day that you'll take place beside me on the throne." He said noticing that I was observing them.
I looked up at Ricardo and his eyes just shone back at me. He smiled genuinely, enjoying my reaction to the room. It made my heart swoon and my pulse accelerate.
How is it possible to love this man even more than before?
I then felt a pull on my arm and fell into the embrace of his highness Ricardo Valera.
Our eyes locked into each other.
"Shall we dance?" He asks. I frown.
"But there's no music?" I questioned and he nods his head over my shoulder. I look over and see a bunch of people with instruments. They start playing a gentle rhythm which set the mood for the dance.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and his around my waist. We glided across the floor not giving anything around us any attention. We didn't even really care that the other royal pair were also dancing with us. All we could focus on was each other.
