"I uh, knew them very well. Y/n L/n. We were in the same class."
Kirishima beamed and Amajiki grunted softly with interest. "For real? You should tell them to come over here! I can't wait to meet a friend of yours from high school!"
I looked nervously at the eager red-haired teen. "Well... I don't know. I wouldn't say we were friends. We'd talked a few times. They probably don't remember me, though."
Kirishima flashed his signature toothy grin at me. "Nonsense, Fat! I'm sure they remember someone as cute as you must have been around our age!"
I looked back over at Y/n.
"It would be great if they did remember me. We only hung out for a little while in school. But, I've always been pretty chubby and loud so I wasn't super popular among my classmates. I don't think they would've wanted to have been close with me."
Amajiki finally said something. "The way you talk about them sound like you wanted to be more than their friend."
I stared at him a moment, then sighed. My cheeks remained pink. These boys know how to give me a tough time.
"Anyway, I don't. think I'm gonna approach them." Kirishima stood up.
"Anyone who can fluster my mentor must be pretty great, so I wanna meet 'em." Kirishima walked towards Y/n.
"Oh no." Amajiki and I spoke simultaneously.
•-YOUR POV-•
I stood with my hands in my pockets, gazing about the restaurant. I often reflected about how everything amazing in my life started. However, the restaurant was simply handed down to me from my parents. I looked forward to the day that I would get to hand it down to someone.
I then sighed remembering that I am a very busy single hero and manager of a restaurant who is nearly thirty years old.
I saw a young boy who was for some odd reason not wearing a shirt approach me. After analyzing the adorable young man for a few moments I realized he was probably a hero or hero-in-training.
"Hello! I'm Red Riot. You see the big guy over there, drinking a liter of soda? Yeah, he's my mentor. Fatgum. I'm sure you know of him. He says that he thinks you're a person who used to be in his class in high school. I was wondering if you'd like to sit with us for a while and talk?"
I blinked at the boy. 'Red Riot' huh? Must be his hero name.I looked at where he had gestured to, seeing the large man he was speaking of.
It was indeed Fatgum. Fatgum was indeed my classmate. I knew Fatgum better as Taishiro Toyomitsu. What a beautiful hunk of meat.
I smiled at the kid. "I'd love to talk with you guys."He beamed at me and started walking back to their table.
Jesus this kid is adorable.I followed him to the table. It was on my way there that I realized how bad of an idea this all was. Why did I agree to meeting someone from school?
I wondered if he thought the same thing about me as others did. Did he even know about the rumors? Surely the pure tall boy that nobody talked to didn't know. Or maybe everyone knew.
I considered making up an excuse and turning around only to flee to a safer place. (AKA your car or the kitchen with your bestie chefs.) But, we were already at the table by the time I thought of the idea.
Red Riot sat down and began speaking.
"Hey Fat, you should scoot over a bit so they can sit."I looked at Fatgum, who wouldn't have had any room if he was to scoot over.
I waved Fatgum off and grabbed a chair from another table, putting it at the end of the table by a boy with elf ears and Fatgum.
I sat down and looked around the table, seeing all of their eyes looking back at me.
"Uh, hi everyone. I'm Y/n L/n. Nice to meet you. It's uh, nice to see you again Taishiro. Or, I guess I should say Toyomitsu."
Fatgum smiled sweetly. "That's alright, you can call me Taishiro. As long as I can call you Y/n."
I smiled back at him as my cheeks warmed slightly. It's amazing how this is the first time we've said more than 'hello' or 'excuse me' when we were in the hallways of our old school.I almost felt like we had known each other forever. After all, I did know so much about him.
"I'm Eijiro Kirishima. This is Suneater, or Tamaki Amajiki."
Both of the boys smiled at me,
one smile bigger than the other. Both of them were nonetheless adorable, though."It's nice to meet you two and see you again. I was wondering something, though. What exactly is your relationship with these boys, Taishiro?"
Taishiro smiled proudly and spoke.
"I am helping to make them better heroes, I am their mentor. They are my best pupils."
"Thanks Fat, but we're your only pupils."
I smiled.Taishiro spoke again, this time a bit more timid. "So did some lucky person decide to marry you yet?"
I smiled sheepishly and shook my head. "I haven't even dated anyone since our last year in high school."
To my surprise Taishiro chuckled.
"You were dating that Magamei Hatsumi dude right? Man, he was a catch."
I sighed dramatically. "I wouldn't say that at all. Let's just say he wasn't the best with remembering like anything. I'm pretty sure he forgot his own birthday once."
Everyone at the table at least smiled.
Codo returned to the table with their requested drinks, including a whole two-liter soda bottle.
"Thanks! And uh, sorry for the odd request."
Codo smiled and shook his head. "That's alright, it's my job. Wanna order your food?"
Taishiro nodded and I stood up."I don't mean to intrude on your dinner, so I'm gonna go run this place for a while. I'll see you later." I held my hand out for Taishiro to shake, and he did.
While we briefly shook hands, I put a piece of paper with my phone number on it in his sleeve. I then smiled and walked away to the kitchen.
Once I got into the kitchen, I proceeded to smile like an idiot and stare into nothing.
I had just gave the man I've had a crush on since freshman year my number.Even if it did take me about ten years to even barely talk to him, I was proud of myself.
