𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 5: 𝒜 𝑅𝒾𝓉𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝑅𝑒𝓂𝑒𝓂𝒷𝑒𝓇

͙✧˖°࿐ The wedding, which had been around 4 months ago now, had been absolutely beautiful. She had never seen Dongmei so happy. It wasn't too long after that that she began her maternity leave.

Not only was Dongmei's due date coming up soon, but the Lantern Rite too.

Ganyu had been adamant on going to the festival with Xiao, but he seemed adamant on not going.

The last few conversations had gone a little something like this:

"Hey you know what would be cool? Going to the Lantern Rite."

"No."

"But Xiao! It'll be fun!"

"No."

"But Xiaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

"I said no."

The mini-arguments had slowly but surely grown shorter and shorter. Either she was getting on his nerves or she was convincing him to come with her. She really hoped it was the latter, as it would be the last good opportunity for them to spend time together before she went to find Dainsleif.

At this point, the Lantern Rite was only a week away, and Ganyu had been quite busy with preparations. It was Sunday at this point, and what would most likely be the last chance to ask Xiao to come with her.

"Hey, boo?"

During their training, after the one time back long ago, Ganyu had taken to calling Xiao "boo" and it was definitely not because he hated it.

"What."

"Wanna go to the Lantern Rite with me?"

He let out an exasperated sigh, "When will you stop asking me that?"

"When you say yes," Ganyu quipped.

He gave her an incredulous stare, then sighed again.

"...Fine," he spat.

She shot up, "Wait, like actually? You're not just trolling?"

"What does- Nevermind. But yes, I'm serious. If only to get you off my back."

Ganyu jumped to her feet and started jumping up and down in triumphant joy.

"FUCK YEAH! HEAR THAT WORLD? XIAO'S COMING TO THE LANTERN RITE WITH ME WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

"I regret my decision already."

"Don't worry! I'm going to make sure you don't!"

͙✧˖°࿐The day of the Lantern Rite was filled with buzz and excitement. It was Ganyu's first break of the week, having been working non-stop to pull the event off. It was worth it though, as she stood at the entrance to Liyue Harbor with Xiao by her side.

"Let's go back."

Ganyu's jaw dropped at that statement.

"Fuck no! We just got here! We need to eat the food, play the games, make some lanterns, then watch them fly! There's so much to do, so much to see! And I swear to God if you abandon me I will hunt you to the ends of the Earth and sacrifice you to Satan."

"I don't know who the hell Satan is, but I'd rather not be sacrificed, thanks."

"That's more like it!" she slung her arm over his shoulders, "smile and enjoy the Lantern Rite! Now let's go!"

She pulled him along, Xiao responding with a yelp, and beginning their little adventure at the festival together.

They started along the docks, with all the food stalls and little shops set up. Beginning with getting some skewers of different fruits, foreign and local. Xiao seemed apprehensive to try it at first but with some encouragement he took a bite and seemed to enjoy it.
