The cheering and clapping of the crowd echoed in your ears, upon hearing it, you couldn't help but cheer along.
"Mom, look!" you exclaimed as you pointed at the orca that leapt out of the water, "that's so cool!"
She smiled at you and stroked your hair tenderly, "yes, it is, sweetie."
"Can we go there later?" bouncing up and down in your seat, your eyes sparkling like stars as you ask your mother.
"Of course," she chuckled.
After the show has ended, you dragged her in front of the glass eagerly, not willing to stop at any cause. It seemed like you're not the only child who's eager to take a closer look at the orca as it is quite crowded there
Standing in front of the transparent barrier that separates you and the orca, you watched it swimming around gracefully. Eventually, it swarms in your direction at a sluggish pace. The children next to you screamed in excitement as the enormous creature passes by, it glanced over every one of you. Somehow, you couldn't feel the thrill anymore.
"Why does it look so sad?" turning your head to ask your mother, your innocent eyes widened in wonder.
She paused, seemingly taken aback by your question, "well," she tucked a strain of hair behind your ears, "it doesn't have any friends here, you see."
You stayed silent for a while as you watched it swimming in circles.
"This place is too small for it," your mother placed her hand on your shoulder as she continued, "besides, what do you think it will feel when it's taken away from its ocean, the only home it has?"
"It probably feels very bad then," you replied, your eyes never leaving the orca.
"that's right, " she bends down and kisses your forehead, "and you are my ocean," she smiled.
You then beamed at her, "you are my ocean, too!"
A sudden urge made you place your ear on the surface of the glass at the other side of the wall that the silent waves flowed within. The voices around you seem to drown away as you closed your eyes and listened. The orca sang, its song echoed in the empty container. The emotions it conveyed are so deep for your understandings, but you listened on.
After a few weeks, you heard that it died in the aquarium. The pictures of it are displayed on the television as the news reporter talked. You suddenly realised that it was all alone, separated from the rest of the world, never being able to return to the ocean it belongs to.

You jolted awake as your phone rang. The sunlight peeking into the dim room made you wince since your eyes are not fully adjusted. Your heart beat dully against your chest as your eyes darted around the room. Then you remembered, you were sent to another city for a mission and stayed in this motel for a night due to not being able to travel back within a short time.
Wiping your sweat covered forehead, you picked up the phone.
"Hello?" You called out with your coarse voice.
"Rise and shine!" the loud, cheery voice made you groan.
"Gojo sensei?" you asked, even though you already know the answer.
"Bingo!" you can almost hear a grin in his voice, "it's your favourite teacher!"
You rolled your eyes at his self-praise. You felt that he knew that you're rolling your eye due to his chuckles right after that.
you then asked, "Is there something that you need?"
"Well, yes," his voice turning serious abruptly as he spoke, "there is something very important that I need you to do."
Upon hearing his change in tone, you quickly got up to get changed while talking to him on speakerphone, "what is it?"
"You see, it's not an easy task," he lowered his voice, and spoke more slowly and clearly, word by word, "that's why I need you to listen very, very carefully."
"Got it," you replied with seriousness as zipped up your jacket, leaving almost everything covered except your face.
"Good," he said in a hushed voice, almost sounding like a whisper, "now I need you to listen very, very carefully."
You placed your phone next to your ear again as he spoke, "I'm listening," you whispered back, waiting for him to give his order.
For what felt like a long period of time, he was silent, the only noise that can be heard is the background noise over the phone.
Just as you gulped and about to open your mouth to speak again, he said loudly, "go buy me the limited strawberry shortcake near your motel, see you at 12!" with an overly enthusiastic voice and cut off, not giving you a chance to respond.
Dumbfounded, you stood there with the phone in your hand as your brain tried to process what he said.
Brain.exe has stopped working.
