The conversation between you and Junpei stopped at a conversation about a new movie coming out. If it weren't for the fact that the obscure movie is still being screened you would've thought months had passed (totally not because SOME author kept procrastinating).

The light of your phone reflected on your face as you typed in a few words before deleting all of them, then typed a whole paragraph just to delete them again. Type, delete, and repeat. You didn't know how long you'd been repeating the same action over and over again before you decided to stop.

The apologies you tried to type in didn't sound sincere, too wordy, too forced, too everything. In fact, you weren't sincere. A part of you felt bad for punching him, but another part didn't even consider hurting him wrong, you hated this part of yourself. It felt more like an obligation to you if anything.

Shutting your screen, you decided to stare at the ceiling in the dark motel room and listen to the drunken guffaws muffled through the door. You didn't want to deal with it so you tried to sleep, but you couldn't sleep because those drunkheads wouldn't shut up. Frustrated, you ruffled your hair and turned on your phone again, forcing yourself to send a response so you had no way of procrastinating.

You
Hey

You
Wanna watch that movie we talked about tomorrow?

As soon as you were done, your hand itched to throw your phone as far away as possible, though you simply set it facing down on the bed. The light of your phone screen illuminated the sheets softly, soon turning dim, and then turning off. Darkness shrouded the room. You couldn't see anything in the dark, simply looking at where your phone should be.

After God knew how long had passed, you thought your eyelids began to drop, not that you could tell you were in complete darkness, but you didn't fight the drowsiness.

A buzz made you jolt up. You didn't know if you managed to sleep or not but you instantly picked up your phone, squinting your eyes at the bright screen.

JunpeiSure

It's a simple reply, but it was enough to tear your sleepiness away. Eyes wide as you stared at your screen, your heartbeat sped up and slowed down as you dreaded the morning to come while simultaneously trying to reassure yourself.

You started to regret sending that message.

Your heart scratching softly against your chest bothered you more than the commotion outside. Your eyelids shut themselves tightly, yet your mind wouldn't let you rest.

When you opened your eyes again, it was already day. It felt like you simply blinked and time just suddenly shifted. The exhaustion remained in your eyes, but you pushed yourself up to turn off your alarm before it rang.

It's pointless to stay in bed if you can't get rest anyway. As you freshened up, you restlessly wrote a script for yourself in your head, trying to predict what he would say and responding to it. You wanted to brace yourself for whatever the outcome was gonna be, whether it be acceptance or rejection, making up countless scenarios and hoping that at least it would happen as one of the scenarios.

However, all that prediction just goes to waste.

You paced around the place where you were supposed to meet up with Junpei, reciting all the dialogues you made up, yet your mind went blank the moment you saw him making his way toward you.
