You could feel your head starting to throb as you sat amid the ruin of the curse's destruction. You had been working your bones off, skipping meals and even sleep. Though you were quite lucky that you were able to finish them relatively quickly as Sukuna seemed to have caused the device that restricts your cursed energy to malfunction. Running your fingertips over the collar, you really don't want to admit that you were a little glad that he did that.

"(Name), you did well," Ijichi came from behind you and patted your shoulder.

"Thanks," you rubbed your temples and sighed, standing up from the mess gradually then brushing dust off of your clothes.

Ijichi waited patiently, motioning for you to follow him as soon as you are done. The walk was silent, yet you appreciate that he decided to not start a conversation as you really didn't feel like talking. You nodded as an acknowledgement as Ijichi opened the car door for you, nearly crashing into the seat ungracefully as you entered it. Just as Ijichi get in, you quickly fixed your posture in order to not embarrass yourself, buckling your seatbelt while he was starting the car.

You didn't ask any questions, knowing that you simply have to let Ijichi take you to wherever you needed to be. Not that you had the choice to not go anyway, all you could do was take your time to rest as Ijichi was driving. Sometimes you forget that Okkotsu had gone overseas, having a small hope that you might encounter him again during a mission, only to be met with disappointment right after you check your phone and realise that you have been bombarded with a very lonely Okkotsu.

I miss you too, you felt like you were a parent that just sent their child to boarding school as you let out a dramatic sob, though a smile appeared on your face again when you saw him sending a picture of his daily life, only to drop again when you saw texts of him telling you how much he misses you.

Ijichi glanced at the rearview mirror in concern, only to look away when your expression kept changing like some kind of face-changing master in those Sichuan operas. If you weren't looking at your phone, he would really think that you had been possessed by some kind of demon.

"...You might get motion sickness if you stare at your screen for too long," Ijichi breathed out like he had been holding his breath, "it's not good for your eyes, too."

"Sorry," you put your phone away and slouched into your seat like an octopus, to a point where it was starting to scare Ijichi as Gojo would slay him on the spot if he saw that.

"Why don't you rest your eyes a little?" He opened his mouth again, "it's going to take a while to get to the destination."

"Is that so?" You mumbled, staring out at the window absentmindedly.

"I will wake you when we arrive," he assured you, his eyes never leaving the road as he drove.

"Thank you," you pinched the bridge of your nose, letting your eyelids shut themselves without trying to stop them.

The soft noise of the car's engine carried your mind away, feeling like you were slowly drifting into the boundless ocean, where you flowed around aimlessly and let the waves take you wherever they want.

"(Name)..."

A muffled voice called out to you from the depths, luring you towards it like a siren inviting a fisherman to its feast. You let yourself sink, wanting to hear the voice clearer despite the uncertainty. Though it never rang again, echoing in the void and articulating each second. It was flooding your senses until you couldn't hear anything but the voice.
