"We have obtained reports of remnants," Nanami's voice echoes in the room, "they seemed to be linked to recent cases of missing people and unnatural deaths around the area."
After heavens knew how many times you had begged Nanami, he had allowed you to listen to their reports at the very least. It was all fun and games until you learnt about the humans being forcibly contorted into something like a cursed spirit, it was like some twisted experiments from horror movies, besides, it almost caused Itadori to kill a human. You could tell that he was really upset about it, you are too. One thing you don't want is your kouhais being forced to dirty their hands, that is something that a young jujutsushi should not experience.
"Pay attention," Nanami knocked your head lightly with his knuckles to grab your attention, "you're the one who wanted to listen."
"Sorry," you mumbled, rubbing your temple to ease your headache from all the information you just received.
He sighed and continued, "We can narrow down the location of the culprit's hideout with that."
"Alright! We'll just step right in there, right?"
"I'll go with you then."
You and Itadori spoke at the same time, then you both gave each other a look and let out a small chuckle.
Nanami cleared his throat before speaking again, "firstly, Itadori-kun, there is still some uncertainty, I will continue my investigation, so I will give you another job," he then turned to you and continued, "secondly, no."
You stood up and protested, "my injuries have healed, I'm perfectly capable of going with you."
"No," he responded, crossing his arms as he spoke, "it's too dangerous for you."
You suddenly felt a small annoyance, "I have to do something," you frowned a little, "don't forget that I was a grade one jujutsushi."
"Was," he repeated, "you're not one anymore due to your special condition."
"But I-"
"I get that you're distressed," he placed a hand on your shoulder, his gaze softening a little, "I will handle this, don't worry."
As his sentence ended, you fell silent. Tugging on the chocker that had been there for way too long, the small sense of disgust and uselessness washed over you. Since this thing had been here, you're just being saved by people all the time, and most people restricted you from doing missions that they thought you were not capable of doing.
Itadori eyed you curiously, no one had ever told him about what has been going on. He really thought that you never used your jujutsu in front of him because you didn't have to.
"It's not your fault," he said softly, giving your head a pat before turning to Itadori, "as for you, there was a boy in the movie theatre caught on the surveillance camera placed on the passageway you see on the screen," he showed Itadori the pictures of it while you sulked alone in a corner, "from his appearance, it's unlikely that he is a curse specialist," he pushed up his glasses and continued, "however, since he is the victims' classmate, which means they're related."
As he was done explaining, Itadori saluted along with Ijichi whole yelling, "Roger!" Before he sprinted out, he turned around and asked, "Oh right, what's his name again?"
Nanami paused as if realising his mistake before saying, "his name is Yoshino Junpei."
You jumped up at the mention of his name, "what did you just say?"
"His name is Yoshino Junpei," he raised a brow at your sudden action.
"...Is there a picture of him?" You asked, you wanted to confirm if it's merely a coincidence or not.
