A few days had passed since that rainy day, when she got used to his presence, to waking up in the same bed as him. Since that morning they had never spent a night apart, they always used to sleep either at her place or at his apartment; he had even left some clothes in her drawer just in case, on the other hand, when she used to sleep at his place she always wore one of his big shirts, there was no need for a pajama. However, as she opened her eyes that morning, she heard something she wasn't prepared to.
"I understand, I'll be there as soon as possible, maybe tomorrow" she heard him say.
Looking around, over the opened door of his bedroom, she could see him laying against the living room wall, his phone in his hand. She brought herself into a sitting position, looking at him, trying to understand his words. Was he leaving? Where did he have to get to? Maybe he just needed to pick up something somewhere, there was no need to be that dramatic right? No negative vibes.
"Good morning" he said walking back to his bedroom, seeing she was awake.
"Morning, what's wrong?" she answered worried.
He sat on the bed, taking her hands in his softly.
"I need to leave for a couple days. My boss called me, I need to go back to check a few things. I'm leaving tomorrow morning, hoping to be back the next day during the afternoon" he explained, rubbing his thumb on the back of her hands.
"Oh... so you're leaving" she answered sadly, lowering her head, looking at their hands.
"Just for a bit more than a day, then I'll come back till the end of August" he reassured her, he didn't want her to feel bad about it.
"Oh, ok I get it" she simply answered.
She felt a sudden fear overtake her. What if he would have left and not came back? Or if he din't want to see her anymore and he wouldn't have texted or called when he would have got back? She didn't want him to leave.
"Are you ok?" he asked, putting his fingers under her chin to make her look at him.
"I'm ok just you know, a bit sad I won't see you for a few days" she gave him her best fake smile, hiding the fear of him leaving her forever.
"Look at the positive thing, you'll actually have more than one day for yourself without me bothering you" he chuckled and she smiled too, hoping he could't see her sorrow.
She kissed him, cupping his face with her hands, straddling his body. She let her tongue enter his mouth, tasting him, running her hand on his neck and through his hair. Meanwhile, his hands reached her hips, getting under her shirt, actually his shirt, touching her skin, making her shiver. She felt her back hit the mattress, his mouth attached to her neck as she moaned softly. She couldn't lose all this, couldn't loose him. He made her feel free, alive, after a really long time, he saw her for who she was.
She had never described herself as a clingy person, she didn't really like those couples who always felt the need to sit and cuddle everywhere, she had always thought she would have freaked out in having someone always laying their head on her shoulder or her, feeling the need to always cuddle against someone else. However, now she could understand the feeling. Since she found out Cal was gonna leave, even for just a few days, she felt the need to spend every second with him, throwing away the plans they had made for the day to spend it together in bed, cuddling, kissing, making out and having a definitely pleasurable time together.
She had never taken for granted their time together, but knowing he was about to leave made her wonder if she might have had to kiss him more, for a bit longer maybe, she had to hold his hand every time she could have. She might be overreacting, he had told her he was gonna come back but she still feared he might lie to her, everyone in her life had either lied to her or left her. However, if he would have come back in a couple days, their vacation was almost over, so they would have parted anyway in a few. She needed to take a decision, actually she already had taken one, but she was too scared to admit it, but she had to.
