*Two years later*

"Cal, I'm home" she said as she opened the door of heir new apartment.

Europe was great. She had just finished doing paperworks on her office. Working as a private investigator was harder than she thought, especially for the fact that you need to do everything on your own, you can't ask some colleagues and hope they would say yes. Luckily she had Cal, he had started helping her with the cases and the administration but she didn't want him to work as much as her. She knew she was exaggerating some times and she was glad to have someone at home that kept reminding her not to work till midnight. She usually finished working not more than an hour after he left, so she could go home, take a shower and help him with dinner.

That day though, it was different, she was coming home knowing she had some days off for the summer but as soon as she opened the door she saw Cal standing in front of her with a suitcase.

"What's going on?" she asked confused, even a bit scared.

"You have four days off, which makes them six since we add the weekend. We have a flight in two hours" he told her.

"We have a what?" she asked confused, what was he talking about?

"Go take a shower and go finish your suitcase, I have already put the basic stuff you need in it so you just have to take care of the outfits you wanna bring with you. I booked two plane tickets, I'm taking you on a surprise trip" he said proudly,

"Are you serious?" she asked, she couldn't believe it.

"I am, you need a vacation, some days to relax, I thought it would have been a great idea to spend some special days together" he answered smiling.

Did he just booked a six days vacation without telling her just to make her a surprise and to make her relax? Could she love him more than she already did?

"You are the best" she raised on her tiptoes, hooking her arm around his neck and leaving a kiss on his lips, what did she do to deserve him?

"I know, but you deserve it. Come on, go get ready, I'll wait for you. We will have dinner on the plane, I know it's not the best but I swear I'll make up to it" he promised.

She gave him a smile before getting into the shower, thinking about what she could bring with her. Cal had prepared her a bag with all her swimsuits so she could tell they were either going to a SPA or to the seaside. She couldn't wait. It would have been their first real vacation together since the one they met. They would have liked to go somewhere the previous Christmas but they had too much work to take care of and they decided to wait. Now as June was almost over it was the perfect time to have one. A lot of people were still working in that period and the weather was just perfect.

She suddenly remembered Cal telling her they would have had dinner on the plane, it must have been a long flight since they usually didn't serve dinner on a quick one. She was really curious about it.

"If you don't know what to bring with you just know the weather will be hot.. and I wanna take you out for dinner so bring whatever makes you more comfortable" she loved the way he always tried to make something new, surprising her every now and then.

Once she had packed everything they headed toward the airport. They got their suitcases boarded and headed toward the metal detectors.

"Are you gonna tell me where we're going?" she asks him as he looked at the gates list.

"Gate 22" he simply answered.

"Warwick?" her mouth opened, reading the town's name.

"It's not August, but I figured it would have been a good idea to relax" he gave her a smile, mirroring hers.
