Her alarm that morning wasn't that annoying. Cal was supposed to come to her place at 11am and she decided to wake up three hours before to get ready and bake her cake... or at least try to. Looking outside she saw the rain pouring down, a dark grey sky and she bet she could hear some thunder every now and then. She took a hot shower to calm down her nerves and then ate something for breakfast while she tried to understand what to do with all the ingredients she had bought. By looking at the recipe on her phone it didn't look that difficult to be honest and at the end she managed to create something that slightly looked as a raw cake would look like before being put in the oven. She just had to wait for it to bake and hope it wouldn't burn. She decided to wear a pair of black leggings and a grey oversized teeshirt; she didn't really wanted to welcome him in her pajama, even though she didn't really have one but neither put on something elegant, it would have been weird. She used to sleep with just a big teeshirt and she thought it wouldn't have been that appropriate, yet. She brushed her hair and then sprayed some perfume on her skin.

She heard her doorbell rang and she quickly run toward her door. As she opened it she found Cal in front of her with a paper bag in his hands, his leather jacket covered in droplets of rain.

"Hey, I bought something for lunch in case you didn't have anything planned" he said entering he apartment.

He was always one step ahead of her, she had been so concentrate in not burning her cake and making something that could be eaten that she totally forgot about the whole lunch she wanted to make.

"I don't have anything specific in mind but I'm baking a cake" she said proudly taking his jacket and leading him toward the kitchen taking his hand.

She helped him put everything on the table and she looked curious at what he had bought. She didn't really mind to cook but since she came back she wasn't always in the mood for it; she usually got really tired during the day and ended up eating pre heated food or really simple things that could have been done in a few minutes.

"It looks great! Is it like your favorite cake to bake?" he asked curious, looking at the oven.

"It's the first time I made it... I don't even know how it's gonna be" she chuckled honestly, making him laugh.

"Oh really? Well it looks good for now" he smiled at her, who mirrored his smile, staring into his eyes.

She got closer, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him softly. She was way more comfortable then the previous day; it might have been the fact that they were at her apartment, or the fact that she hadn't panicked a couple hours before thinking she was drowning... whatever it was, she was way more relaxed. Their lips moved together like they always did, like they had been kissing for years, their tongues caressing each other until she decided to break the kiss to catch some air.

"I should come here more often if that's the way you greet me" he said, running his hands on her hips.

"I always kiss you" she answered confused.

"Mmh... I can't really remember right now you know... I think you should remind me again" he raised his eyebrow at her.

She smiled, raising on her tiptoes and kissing him again, leaving a kiss on his lips before checking her cake. The timer went off and she hoped nothing bad had happened in the meantime. It turned out that the cake actually looked good, she hoped it tasted as good as it looked because otherwise she would have been a big failure.

"It looks good" he pointed out.

"Yeah... for now. Let's wait till we try it" she chuckled.

"I bet it's great, even just for the fact that you spent time baking it" she didn't have to, but she tried to make something sweet for him that she wasn't used to do; even if it would have turned out a mess he would have appreciated it anyway.
