“Truth could be as dangerous as any betrayal”

The ethereal beauty of the moon hung in the night sky. Laughter echoing against the walls of the small vintage cafe.
The air was thick with an unseasonable tension as Hoseok slid through the door of the familiar café. The subtle aroma of roasted coffee beans mingled with the sweet scent of pastries, but today, he found neither comfort nor warmth in it. His heart raced with a mixture of dread and determination. He had come for a purpose, and that purpose weighed heavily on his conscience.
“Hey, Hoseok!” Jimin called from a nearby table, his charming smile lighting up the space. But Hoseok couldn’t concentrate on Jimin's cheerful demeanour; he was fixated on the storm brewing on the horizon—the tempest that had come in the form of Jeon Jungkook .
“Jimin, can we talk?” Hoseok said, his voice surprisingly steady despite the chaos in his mind. Jimin's expression shifted to concern.
“Is everything alright?”
“No,” Hoseok replied, his gaze hardening. “It’s about Taehyung… and someone else.”
Jimin frowned, leaning in closer, his playful demeanour fading. “What do you mean?”
“He’s been seeing Seara,” Hoseok whispered urgently, glancing around the café to ensure no one was within earshot. “And it’s Jungkook who’s been supporting them. He’s the one egging it on.”
Jimin was quiet as they sensed the shift in the atmosphere. He put his coffee back to the table, surprise etching across his features.
“You’re wife having an affair,” Hoseok pressed, eyes wide with a determination he didn’t feel. “With Taehyung. Jungkook is encouraging it.”
Anger rippled through Jimin, turning the lively night into a sombre affair. Jimin's face paled. “How do you know about that?”
“Because I know Jungkook,” Hoseok replied, the implications of his words weighing heavily on everyone present. “And I know he wants to take Lisa away from me"
The love between Hoseok and Lisa was a one sided love story. It was too clear for Jimin how Hoseok's eyes always linger on the young lady, and how subtly Hoseok froze by mere accidental touch.
For him it becomes a usual sight to see Hoseok with Lisa, the pretty girl who always avoids his presence, and cling to Jungkook.
Ho-Seok wasn't concerned about Jungkook or Seara as long as one of them didn't get involved with Lisa, his love and his dream. Ho-Seok loved her ever since he had stepped inside the Kim family.
Ho-Seok didn't find the courage to confess and keep up his hope that one day he will confess his feelings. But that's not the case anymore. Jungkook had stolen his dream without even blinking an eye. He believed as long as he helped Jimin Lisa would become his. If he makes Jungkook Jimin's enemy, he will soon be out of the picture.
“Jungkook?” Jimin echoed, his brow furrowing deeper. “But why would he do it?”
“Because he needs Taehyung's support, he needs his favour,” Hoseok said, feeling the weight of his words settle like a stone in his stomach. “He’s trying to steal Lisa from me while encouraging Taehyung to steal Seara from you.”
Ho Seok hesitated for a bit before he continued. “If you don't do something he will separate you both. Trust me Jimin or else you can see it yourself, go to bangtan tomorrow. Jeon Jungkook your brother in law is the one who spread the umbrella for this folly, warn him off, if you are capable" he stopped relieved from Jimin's red eyes, there he had feeded his anger enough. “I guess you are capable.”
There Jimin confirmed his wife's affair from Hoseok. The reason why she is distant and ditched physically and emotionally.
“I thought you were with Taehyung, why are you helping me?" Jimin asked, tilting his head curiously, he knows him as a loyal servant of Kim's.
"Because I don't want any unfortunate events to happen, especially when they finally decided to become family from enemies."
Ho-seok hides his intentions convincingly with his concerns for the family.
Ho-seok needs Lisa, he can't lose her. He had years of love. He can't allow anyone to stomp on his dreams, no matter what Hoseok doesn't want to lose Lisa to anybody. The warmth of her laughter and the light in her eyes had always kept him tethered to hope, even when he believed he had no right to. But if Jungkook succeeded, she’d be lost to him
"Beside I don't want Mr Kim to get angry at young master"
He has promised to Taehyung that he will keep this as a secret between them, betting his trust, blinded by love hoseok continue.
"I don't want Taehyung to get into any trouble" but Hoseok wants Jeon Jungkook out of the picture, desperately.
Obsessed over Seara, Jimin is blinded and ready to the extent of murder. The mention of her name twisted something deep within Jimin. Seara. She was everything to him.
“I can’t let Taehyung get away with this,” Jimin muttered, anger flickering across his face.
Hoseok’s heart raced with each passing second. He knew the implications of what he was about to do, the ripple of consequences that would follow.
As the words left his lips, he felt a pang of guilt. This was a secret entrusted to him—a fragile trust that now danced perilously close to destruction. But he believed the end justifies the means. It had to be done. He needs Lisa, even if it meant tearing apart families that had once seemed unbreakable.
After a tense silence, Jimin nodded slowly. “Alright..." Jimin’s breaths as he tried to mediate, but the damage was done.
"I will deal with it."
Each frustrated nerves chipped away at their once unshakeable bonds. As secrets spilled into the air, the cost of Hoseok’s confession loomed large—too large for any of them to grasp at that moment.
In his quest to achieve Lisa—the one he had loved in secret—he had unleashed suffering that no one could contain.
Hoseok will never know sharing this secret with Park Jimin would cost lives, will change somany people's destiny and love. He will never know he is the one starting a murder spree. He is giving the blade to a killer. Setting his own life on the line and waiting to get killed.
He had set off a chain of events that would change them all forever, and for what?
To silence his own heartache? To profess a love he had kept in shadows?
In the end, truth could be as dangerous as any betrayal—because in his attempt to love Lisa, he had irrevocably shattered another world built on love.
