“Be careful of what you wish
It could come true in wrong time”

Myung-He's POV

I wished this road would go on for eternity.

How nice it would be to be able to walk like this with Jeongguk forever. While I was deep in those feelings he suddenly stopped for some reason.

He peered up at the bit of dark clouds that could be seen between the canopy above us.

"That's not possible..." he muttered quietly.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"No it's nothing."

He started walking again, his grip quite tight. He was silent and deep in thoughts. After walking quietly for a while I spoke again.

"Gguk Are you sure this is the right path to academy?"

"Yes ofcourse," Jeongguk responded immediately.

I could tell how uneasy he was by the rehearsed answer. I finally realised what he had been doing earlier.

I might be imagining it but I think we've walked further than we would have on the highway. We are walking more than we should. The time had gone forever like the forest had been growing with our feets.

I just didn't notice these things because all I cared about was that I'm walking with Jeongguk.

I couldn't avoid the question."really...Are we lost? Why felt I'm seeing the same trees again?" I spotted the bush repeatedly. Even it's raining I marked some trees from their peculiar shapes.

"It's a straight road from the streets to the academy. How could we get lost?" He refuted insistently. He had been familiar with this path since he used it more often. He does go out unlike me.

He hadn't wanted to make me worry but he had been bothered. When he stopped and looked at the sky he had been checking the position of the stars. He had been checking our location by using the constellations.

His 'that's not possible hadn't been referring to having taken the wrong road. Instead it was his confusion at being on the right road but not reaching the school no matter how long we walked. We are walking like we are trapped inside a maze. .

"Jeongguk-" are we walking inside a maze?

Just as I started to ask another question suddenly it began to rain.

Regardless of the natural roof of the trees made over our heads the large drops fell with a speed that made them feel like a hailstorm.

"Myung, let's run."

Jeongguk took off running before he finished speaking.

As promised he held my hand tightly as we bolted through the woods as though he hoped to get us out of them immediately. The tension growing up on us was unfathomable. We aren't getting out from this wood any longer, it seems.

He shouldn't be tired yet Jeongguk slowed down after we rounded the woods.

"What the..." Joengguk's low puzzled voice reached me through the heavy rain.

"Gguk?" I'm feeling uneasy. I'm scared too.

I looked in the direction Jeongguk was from beside him and saw that the woods stopped abruptly as though they had been cut away.

My body went cold.

Weren't we in the woods?

There was an old lovely blossom garden instead. And beyond it was a large building like a European castle. The building is dark grey made up of old stone. Its intimidating windows and doors glared on our way.

"It's an old mansion," Jeongguk said, still not moving and controlling his heavy breathing.

I was speechless. My feets and hands are cold from fear. I don't want to be in a nightmare so soon. I thought they only happen when you fall asleep.

“I have never seen this before” I gulped down. The iron rusty big gate stood out of its balance yet locked together. The weeds and creepers are gaining the possession of its surroundings.

In the dark, under the thunder the building looks frightening so much I felt goosebumps perking up.

"That means that even though we were supposed to be walking to the front of the academy dormitory, we somehow ended up at the back side of the academy."

"But it was a straight path." How is that even possible?!

"Yeah, a straight path." Gguk nodded.

"I must have gone in at the wrong place."

It was the only conclusion that the super-realistic Jeongguk could come up with that made sense.

Going in the wrong place have been impossible but it was harder to imagine that the road suddenly changed destinations.

We ended up in the restricted forest area at the back of the academy.

Like something in a nightmare.

Like something in a horror movie.

We are lost and frozen in front of a castle.

"Gguk do you know the way to main building from here?" I inquired.I was confused but more terrified.
