Draco's POV

We walked into lunch, when Professor McGonagall walked up to us, not even letting us sit down, before she started talking.

"You three will be serving detention, today." She said before handing us our slips and walking away.

"Don't be late." She shouted over her shoulder.

Cleaning Caldron's in Professor Snape's Class room.

"What are you two doing?" Ron asked. I groaned.

"Cleaning caldron's with Snape." I signed,

"I got trophy room, with Filch." Ron whined,

"I got work with Lockhart." Harry cried. I stifled a laugh as we sat down.

"Filch'll have me there all night. No magic! There must be about a hundred cups in that room. I'm no good at Muggle cleaning." Ron complained,

"At least you don't have to deal with Snape! You know he wanted us expelled the second we walked into the castle!"

"Ture," Ron shrugged,

"I've got it worse than both of you!" Harry signed. I couldn't help my chuckle this time. Harry glared at me.

"Sorry, I couldn't help it. Lockhart's going to talk about nothing but himself! All night!"

"Did you say Lockhart? Do you have detention with him?" Dora said, stopping dead in her tracks. I rolled my eyes.

"Go away, Theo!" I snapped. She whacked me over the head, messing up my head.

"Shut up. Potter, you have detention with Lockhart? What did you go to get him for detention?" She asked eagerly as I fixed my hair.

"Oh, that was easy. I just flew a car into the whomping willow. Do you want to try?" Harry snapped.

"Where's you car?" She asked. I glared up at her.

"You can't be serious!" I laughed, she amid for my head again, and I ducked just in time.

"Go away, Dora."

"Don't call me, Dora." We both said. Theodora glared at me before walking away.

---

Snape sat at his desk, grading papers. He cursed under his breath, glaring at the paper.

"Professor Snape?" I called, walking in. He looked up, putting the papers down.

"Ah, Draco. There you are. The caldrons are over there, have fun." He laughed. I nodded, grabbing a bucket of soapy water, and scrubby the first caldron.

---

As I cleaned the Caldron's Snape would mutter curse words under his breath. Stuff like, "Idiot," "How did you make it to second year?" "That's the stupidest thing I've ever read!"

"Professor Snape, can I leave now? I cleaned all the caldrons."

"Yeah, yeah. You can leave, and tell your classmates, their idiots." He muttered. I coughed out a laugh and nodded.

I walked down to dinner, seeing Hermione and Ron sitting at the Gryffindor table. I slid into the seat in front of them, pulling a plate out, and pilling food on.

"When did you finish?" Ron asked.

"Just now. I'm starving, you?"

"Ten minutes ago. Did it as fast as I could for the food." Ron shrugged.

"Let's go, find Harry." Hermione said, once we finished our food. We nodded, standing up, and walking out the great hall.

---

"Harry, what are you doing?" Ron asked as we found him in the second floor. Harry points to something on the wall, that was written in blood.

THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED ENEMIES OF THE HEIR... BEWARE.

"'The Chamber of Secrets has been opened...?" Hermione said, confused.

"What's that?  Hanging underneath?" I asked, pointing at something furry hanging on the wall.

"That's Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris." Harry muttered, the cat hung by it's tail, eyes open and blank. Near the window, there were spiders, crawling in a straight line out the window.

"Look at that.  Have you ever seen spiders act like that?  Ron...?" Hermione turned to Ron, confused as he started backing away.

"I... don't... like... spiders." Then the stairwell was filled with sounds of students, laughing and talking before the hallway was filled with students staring between us and the cat. Dora pushes past everyone,

"Enemies of the heir, beware! You'll be next, Mudbloods!" She points at Hermione, before laughing.

"What's going on here?  Go on now! Make way..." Filch yelled, pushing past the students, he stopped in his tracks,

"Mrs. Norris!" He yelled, before turning to glare at Harry.

"You !  You've murdered my cat! I'll kill you!  I'll --"

"Argus!" Dumbeldore yelled, walking in with the professors.

"Everyone will proceed to their dormitories immediately. Expect you four," He pointed to the four of us, as everyone started walking out.

"It was definitely a curse that killed her -- probably the Transmogrifian Torture. Encountered it myself once, in Ouagadougou.  The full story's in my autobiography..." Lockhart said, I rolled my eyes, catching my Snape's eye, who smirked at me.

"She's not dead, Argus.  She's been Petrified." Dumbeldore said,

"Precisely!  So unlucky I wasn't there.  I know the very countercurse that could have spared her..."

"But how she's been Petrified... I cannot say."

"Ask him!  It's him that's done it. You saw what he wrote on the wall! Besides, he knows I'm -- I'm a Squib." Filch yelled pointing to Harry, who shook his head quickly.

"It's not true, sir!  I swear!  I never touched Mrs. Norris -- And I don't even know what a Squib is."

"Rubbish!  He saw my Kwikspell letter!"

"If might, Headmaster. Perhaps Potter and his friends were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time..." Snape said, and we all glanced at each other confused.

"However , the circumstances are suspicious.  I, for one, don't recall seeing Potter at dinner." Snape commented,

"I'm afraid that's my doing, Severus.  You see, Harry was helping me answer my fan mail..." Lockhart explained, Snape looked at him annoyed.

"That's why we went looking for him, Professor.  We'd just found him when Harry said..."

"Yes, Miss Granger?" Snape said, raising an eyebrow at us.

"When I said I wasn't hungry.  We were heading back to the Common Room and... found Mrs. Norris." Harry cut in,

"Innocent until proven guilty." Dumbeldore said,

"My cat has been Petrified!  I want to see some punishment!" Filch yelled, sounding close to tears.

"We will be able to cure her, Argus.  As I understand it, Madam Sprout has a very healthy growth of Mandrakes.  When they have matured, a potion will be made which will revive Mrs. Norris.  In the meantime, I advise caution. To all."
