Draco's POV

"Riddle might have got the wrong person. Maybe it was some other monster that was attacking people..." Hermione said after Harry had finished explaining what Tom Riddle had shown him.

"How many monsters d'you think this place can hold?" Ron asked,

"We always knew Hagrid had been expelled. And the attacks must've stopped after Hagrid was kicked out. Otherwise, Riddle wouldn't have got his award." I explained, miserably.

"Riddle does sound like Percy - who asked him to squeal on Hagrid, anyway?" Ron said,

"But the monster had killed someone, Ron." Hermione reminded him.

"And Riddle was going to go back to some Muggle orphanage if they closed Hogwarts, I don't blame him for wanting to stay here," Harry said,

"You met Hagrid at Knockturn alley, didn't you, Harry?" I asked, Harry, nodded.

"He was buying a Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent,"

"Do you think that we should go ask, Hagrid?" Hermione said, after a minute of silence, but the three of us shook our head, quickly.

---

"Harry - I don't know who did it - I just found -" Neville started, panting as he ran up to us, on the top stairs of the dormitory. Neville watched Harry nervously before pushing the door open.

Everything in Harry's trunk had been thrown around the room, his comforters had been thrown off his bed, the cloak was ripped on the ground, and the drawers had been pulled out of the dresser.

"What happened Harry?" Dean asked as he walked in with Seamus and Ron.

"No idea." That was all Harry could say as he looked around the room.

"Someone must have been looking for something," I said,

"Is there anything missing?" Ron asked, Harry, started throwing the books back into his trunk before going wide-eyed, and turning back to us.

"Riddle's diary is gone," Harry whispered to us,

"What!" We both said,

"But only Gryffindors know the password," Ron muttered,

"Exactly," Harry said,

---

"Perfect Quidditch conditions!" Oliver shouted as he piled more food on our plates.

"Harry buck up, you need more breakfast!" Oliver said,

"Oliver I don't think I can eat anymore," I muttered, pushing my plate away.

"Do you still feel like you have room in your stomach?" He asked, I shrugged,

"I guess."

"Then yes, you can eat more!" He pushed my plate closer to me,

"Oliver, we're going to do get our quidditch supplies," Harry said, grabbing my arm and pulling me up. We walked out the great hall, as I held on to my stomach, hoping I don't throw up.

"Kill this time ... let me rip ... tear. . ." Yelled Harry, the three of us jumped away from him.

"The voice! I just heard it again - didn't you?" He asked us, we shook our heads, until Hermione widened her eyes, and smacked her forehead.

"Harry - I think I've just understood something! I've got to go to the library!" Before we could answer, she ran off to the library.

"What does she understand?" I asked,

"Load's more than I do, that's for sure." Ron shrugged.

"But why the library?" Harry asked,

"Because that's what Hermione does. When in doubt, go to the library." Ron answered, again. The doors of the great hall opened, causing more people to walk out.

"You two better get moving, it's nearly elven! The match!" Ron yelled, pushing us.

---

We walked out to the field with the rest of the team, Oliver was circling the hoop, warming up, as the Hufflepuff team was walking on the field.

"This match has been canceled." Professor McGonagall called, from the stands. Oliver stood flying, landing right in front of her.

"But Professor! It's quidditch! The house cup- Gryffindor!" Professor McGonagall ignored Oliver's cries,

"All students are to make their way back to the House common rooms, where their Heads of Houses will give them further information. As quickly as you can, please!" Then she lowered, her wand from her throat, and looked directly at me and Harry, waving us over.

"Malfoy, Potter. You need to see something. You two Weasley, follow me." We hurried behind her, as she walked back into the castle.

"This will be a bit of a shock." She said,

"There has been another attack ... another double attack." She pushed open the door of the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey was bent over a curly-haired girl, and next to her was...Hermione.

"Hermione!" Ron shouted, rushing over to her.

"They were found near the library, I don't suppose either of you can explain this? It was on the floor next to them." She asked, holding a circular mirror but we all shook our heads. She signed but nodded.

"I'll escort you three back to Gryffindor tower."

---

"All students will return to their house common rooms by six o'clock in the evening.  You will be escorted to each lesson by a teacher.  No exceptions. I should tell you all this. Unless the culprit behind these attacks is caught, it is likely that the school will be closed." Professor McGonagall explained to us in the Gryffindor common room.

"Haven't any of the teachers noticed that the Slytherins are all safe?  Isn't it obvious all this stuff's coming from Slytherin?  The Heir of Slytherin, the monster of Slytherin -- why don't they just chuck all the Slytherins out?" Neville asked, as the portrait closes,

"They can't close Hogwarts.  Where would we all go?" Seamus asked,

"I don't care what anyone says.  As long as Dumbledore's here, Hogwarts will be here." Dean said, confidently.

"We've got to talk to Hagrid. I can't believe it's him.  But if he did set the monster loose last time -- even by accident -- he'll know how to get inside the Chamber of Secrets.  And that's a start." Harry whispered to us.

"But you heard McGonagall.  We're not allowed to leave the tower except for class -"

"I think it's time to get my Dad's old Cloak out again." Harry said, standing up, and walking upstairs to our dorm.
