I was in this hospital bed looking around for something to do. I pushed the button and the nurse came in.

"Are you ok" she asked

"Will you talking to me" I asked

"I'm here to help you not talk to you" she said

"You are helping me by talking to me" I said and she laughed. She took a seat beside me.

"You married" I asked

"Yeah we been together for 20 years" she said smiling

"You don't look old" I said and she laughed

"I'm 63" she said

"Is he from around here" I ask

"Yeah, he used to be a drug dealer" she said

"My boyfriend was gunned down" I said

"What was his name" the nurse asked

"Dominic Payne" I said smiling

"You said Dominic Payne right?" She asked and I sat up a little bit

"Yeah" I said

"We just had a patient by that name" she said

"Are you sure" I asked

"Yeah, he's like 6'7, light skin and he was a bunch of tattoos on his chest" she said

"Yeah that him" I said smiling

"How long have y'all known each other" she asked

"We meet when we were 13 and he got "gunned" down when we were about 24" I said

"Wow when did y'all start dating" the nurse asked

"When I turned 16" I said

"He was your first" she asked

"He was my first everything, we did everything together" I said

"Why do you think he faked his death" she asked

"When did you and your husband meet" I asked changing the subject

"When I was 20 years old" she said

"Was your marriage perfect" I asked

"No, we got married when I was 27 and when I got pregnant" she said

"What happened to the baby" I asked

"I lost her" she said

"I lost my baby boy to when his crazy side jaws shot me in my stomach" I said

"How far along was you" she asked

"I was 4 months, she went to jail but wasn't good enough for me" I said

"You killed her" the nurse asked

"No but I wanted to but he said he just lost his son and he doesn't won't to lose me too" I said smiling

"Y'all sounded cute" she said smiling

"We were the most talked about hood love" I said smiling

"It sounds like it" she said and I laughed. I looked out the window and saw that the sun was out shining.

"It's morning time" I said and she looked at her watch

"I was suppose to check out a 7 am and it's 8 am" she said

"Thanks for talking to me nurse April" I said

"No problem sweetheart, now you get some rest" she said before she left. I was looking around and I heard the door open.

"Your up" Dr. Rivers said

"I been up all night and I remember you" I said

"I remember you too" he said. He this the one that told me Dominic died and I slapped him.

"He was not really was he" I asked

"No but he said it was for the best" Dr. Rivers said. I just looked at him.

"He was here a few weeks ago" I asked

"Yeah he got shot" he said. I don't know what I would do if I did see Dominic. A part of me would slap him, the other part would kiss him and the other part would cuss him out I thought.

I laid in bed looking up at the ceiling.

"Be quiet she's sleeping" I heard November whisper

"But her foods going to get cold" Kameron said and I sat up.

"What kind of food y'all bring me" I asked

"Mickey D's" Keleb said. I dug in my food like this was my last meal.

"Dang" the boys said

"Hospital food sucks" I said. I looked around the room and saw my fat baby wasn't here.

"Where's fat ma" I asked

"She at home with her daddy" November said rolling her eyes

"Y'all mommy's boys" I asked the boys

"Yeah" Kameron said

"I'm not" Keleb said quick

"I'm a huge daddy's girl because I pull stuff over my dad but my mom know what was up" I said. They stayed to visit hours were over.

I was watching the TV when the door opened.

"Why didn't tell me you was in here" my mom yelled

"Keep your voice down" my dad said and my mom rolled her eyes

"Hey dad" I said

"I'm glad your ok baby girl" my dad said moving my hair out my face

"I brought you some chocolate cause I know you can't live without" she said

"Thank you mom" I said

"You up been up all night" mom said

"Yeah but the nurse kept me company" I said

"Well baby girl I stop by later to see you " my dad said

"Ok love you" I said

"Love you" he said. My mom and dad left and I put one of those chocolates and I went straight to sleep.
