TAERYEONG - Cut

It was a Monday, and like any typical day for idols, they had something scheduled. But TXT didn't think they would be put in an episode of Idol Room with anyone, so you could imagine the shocked look on their faces when they were told they would film with another rookie group, ITZY.

The filming started off smoothly, the introduction song made by PENTAGON's Hui played and both of the groups entered the frame with a little dance of their own, they introduced themselves as groups and then, moved on with self introductions.

It was during the profile segment where Doni, one of the MCs, read out one of Taehyun's interests. Acting, he is interested in acting and wants to take part in a web drama someday. Whether it be an official character or just a cameo.

"You can act?" Coni, the other MC, asked. The boy shyly nods his head to the question, too embarrassed to even say anything. "What genre do you wish to do?"

Taehyun ponders in his seat - he likes action, crime and thriller, but he doesn't know what genre suits him best. "That question remains unanswered," he said, nervously chuckling.

"All right," Doni started. "Why don't you show us a little bit of your acting?" he suggested, which made the boy shrink in size. Taehyun slowly stands up, hands clasped together in front of him. "What should I do?"

The MCs shrugged. "It's up to you, you can do whatever you want. You can act with one of the members, too." Coni smiled at the anxious idol. Taehyun glances around the studio, in search for a compatible acting partner. Then, he makes eye contact with one of ITZY's main dancers.

He flashes a small smile at her and asks if she would like to act with him. She nods her head as she reciprocates the smile. Taehyun whispers what scene they would act out and she only follows his lead.

They both turn to the MCs, "We'll start now." Taehyun announced, now with a bigger smile on his face. He doesn't know why, he can't help but to feel giddy at the thought of acting with ITZY's Chaeryeong. He clamps his hands on his pants as he walks farther from her, readying himself.

"Ready.. Action!" Doni exclaimed.

Taehyun walks forward, so does Chaeryeong. They purposely bump their shoulders together and the girl acts like she dropped a bunch of books. "You again?"

Such a cliché, huh.

But Taehyun didn't help her pick up those imaginary books. Instead, he stares down at her with a piercing glare. "Watch where you're going," he said and finally bent down to match her level. "Wouldn't want such a pretty face to get ruined.."

To say Chaeryeong's heartbeat quickened is an understatement. They maintain eye contact for a moment before she responds.

"You think I'm pretty?" she asked, and she genuinely wanted to know. A soft smile reaches up to her lips when he hummed.

"I swear if we keep meeting like this," Taehyun paused as he glanced down at her hands on the ground. He gently grabs them and brings them up to his lips. "I'll take the opportunity." he softly planted his lips on her hand.

It was planned, but somehow, she didn't know it was coming. Maybe she's too immersed? She doesn't even know.

"Why don't you just take that opportunity now?" she boldly questioned - oh no, this wasn't supposed to happen. She was supposed to say "What opportunity?" and be as dense as a brick.

Taehyun's eyes widens in surprise but he quickly covers it up with another unexpected line. "Well, then, pretty girl.." he mumbled as they stayed in the same position. "Would you like to go out with me?"

Chaeryeong smiles, "I don't see why not," she retorted, her heart was beating abnormally fast.

And then, "Cut." the male idol said.

She almost frowns at the cut off but she manages to grin for the camera. The two bow to the camera and disperse, kind of sad and pissed at the fact that it was all an act. Their respective groups teased them a lot throughout the whole filming session after that.

"Hey," Taehyun greeted her as soon as they finished filming. "I just wanted to say that you're very good at acting." he complimented with a coy smile.

Chaeryeong giggles and thanks him, "Right back at you," she commented, pointing finger guns as a lame joke. "I'm surprised you aren't casted for a role in a drama."

"Well, I was kind of hoping," he said, his voice gradually fading as he finished the sentence. "If I could be the lead male character in your drama."

She freezes, the gears in her head turning too slowly for her liking. "Was that supposed to be a pun?" she asked and narrowed her eyes when he said it kind of was.

"What I mean is," he took a deep breath in before exhaling. "The question earlier.. I meant it. Would you.. like to go out sometime?" he hesitantly questioned, his confidence dropping.

Chaeryeong chuckles. "I would love to."
