Lia let out a frustrated groan and couldn't help but huff, struggling to balance a bag full of groceries and a bottle of detergent in one hand while she places another grocery bag down to answer her ringing phone. "What?" she asked, annoyed.

"Jisu, it's Yeonjun.." she freezes.

Her breathing turned shaky and she almost collapsed, "Y-Yeonjun? How did you get my number?!" she questioned, trying her best to keep her own voice down.

"I asked your sister for it." her brows furrow and she yells into the phone. "And she gave it!?" she growled lowly before turning her head around to look at her surroundings, making sure no one was near.

"Whatever, what do you even want?" she asked as she punched in her four-digit password. "Can we meet?"

Once again, she freezes in place. She hates how he has this effect on her, how can he do it but her own mother doesn't? Let's put that aside, "Why?" she questioned, not realizing that she's now standing in her doorway.

"I just- ..I want to talk. It's been 3 years since we last saw each other, I.. I kind of miss you." he mumbled, Lia's mind is now clouded with thoughts. "Please?"

"I have no other choice, do I?" she said, biting on her bottom lip as she contemplates. "Ugh.. Fine." she muttered. "The coffee shop across my dad's company?"

She hums as a response before the line beeped, pulling the phone away from her ear. Trying her best to transfer the device to her left hand to pick up the one bag that has been sitting on the floor.

She almost cursed when a hand swiftly caught the phone when it slipped from hers, "I'll take that for you." the male said and picks the bag up. She turns to face him and it was almost as if she was made out of concrete.

He offers her a smile before glancing inside her apartment, "May I?" he asked, she quickly realizes that he was talking to her and she nods her head. She could only watch as he steps inside, gently placing the bag on the kitchen counter before walking back out.

She wanted to turn and thank him, only to realize that he was already gone. She sighs and finally makes her way inside, slowly pushing the door shut with her entire body. After she was done with her groceries, she looks at the time.

"Oh, crap!" she blurted out and scrambles to her room to get ready for the meet-up with Yeonjun.

. . .

A smile found its way onto Yeonjun's lips when he spots Lia at the front door of the coffee shop. He didn't know whether he should greet her with a handshake or just a smile, so he waits and contemplates in his seat before she arrived at the table.

It seemed like minutes until Lia was finally in front of him. In a flash, he gets up from his seat and pulls her in his embrace. Completely shocked and take aback, Lia gently pushes him away. "Sorry.. Let's.."

Her words were definitely a sign of discomfort and, thankfully, it was enough to make Yeonjun realize. "Oh, I'm sorry.." he mumbled as they step away from each other.

They continue to sit in silence even when they've ordered themselves a drink. "Sorry, it's awkward seeing you again.." she admitted, nervously chuckling. "The feeling is mutual." he blurted.

"How are you?" the question made Lia ponder for a second.

It made her a bit uncomfortable, but - who wouldn't be when your ex-boyfriend and ex-stepbrother was the one asking you that? She quickly makes up her mind and nods her head.

"Everything's going fine, for me. I finally moved out, got a job and made more friends, that's mostly it.." she said, summing up everything very shortly. Yeonjun softly smiles at her response, "That's good to hear," he muttered.
