They where all running through the woods towards where ever Albero's hideout was. The only odd part was the Albero was literally running through the trees. When a tree was in front of him he would turn translucent and faze through the tree like it wasn't even there. Albero signaled all of them to stop, he looked around and Raphael nodded his head. Then Albero started speaking in a weird language to a tree. The tree started moving but instead of doing something cool like Nic thought, limbs launched themselves at Nic, Athena and Reyna. The branches wrapped themselves around their arms and legs and lifted them into the air.
"What the hell!" Nic shouted. "Tell your pet tree to put us down!"
"Hang on a second." Raphael mumbled.
"Obviously..." Athena groaned and rolled her eyes.
"This is cool!" Reyna comment. Both Athena and Nic looked over at her.
"Yes, because being held hostage by a tree is just awesome." Nic groaned, staining against his tree shackles. Tree shackles, that was new. The branches started squeezing tighter making Athena's and Reyna's arms bleed.
"Hey! Tree principe! Can your hurry up I'd like to keep my arms ya' know." Nic yelled at Albero. {prince}
"Datemi un attimo !" Albero yelled back. {Give me a moment!}
"Non sapevo che si sapeva italiano." Nic replied. {I did not know you knew Italian.}
"Si, now hold on i miei amici. Albero smiled. {yes} {my friends.}
Albero spoke some commands to the trees and they gently laid Athena and Reyna down on the ground. Well let's say Nic said hello to the ground face first.
"Sorry about that." Albero laughed, "the trees don't like being called pets." Albero held his hand out to help Nic up.
"Vai a farti fottere ." Nic smiled, and grabbed Albero's hand, who helped him up.
Albero lead them into a narrow cave, which smelled of mold and mildew. Nobody said a word, but Nic could hear from the other end of the cave, shouting and the sounds of fighting. Nic wondered what he would do if he saw Jake there, which was very unlikely to happen since he sent others to do his dirty work. When they reached the end of the cave their mouths dropped. It was horrifying, down the hill dead bodies where everywhere. Athena gasped and covered her face. Nic looked at his friends and closed his eyes whispering a silent prayer.
"My friends let's go stop these stronzi ! Nic yelled in confidence.
Athena hugged Nic and smiled at him with worry in her eyes. Nic looked her in the eyes and a tear dropped from those lime green eyes. He kissed her on the forehead and wiped the tear from her cheek.
"We'll be okay, stay close to me." Nic whispered to Athena. She let go of him and nodded her head.
Reyna looked at her sister and gave her a worried smile. Athena wouldn't let Reyna join it the hand to hand combat but told her to stay up on the hill with Raphael and kill them with her arrows from a far. Athena laced her fingers in Nic's hand as they walked down the hill. Nic looked at her, she was scared and was trying hard not to show it. They reached the bottom of the hill, Nic took a deep breath and they all raced into battle. Nic kept his eyes on Athena, but not letting his guard down. The guys looked that they where fighting looked human but certainly didn't fight like it, they where too skilled. He spun around unsheathed his sword an began to fight. He countered an attack and impaled his blade through ones abdomen. Another launched themselves on Nic's back, but he reacted quickly. He grabbed it by the arms and flipped him over his head when he hit the ground Nic jumped on top of him and and imbedded his blade into its heart. Nic picked up his sword and swung it to the left decapitating one of them. He was now surrounded by about five. He hit one on the back on the legs then stabbed them in the chest. One tried to hit him but he countered just in time, knocking the sword out of its hands he slit its throat. Before he could react something tackled him to the ground. A large man hovered above him with a knife held to Nic's throat.
"Che cosa hai intenzione di fare ora , ragazzo ? " The man asked with a smile plastered across his face. {What are you going to do now, boy?}
"This!" Nic spat and plunged his wrist blade into the mans neck. Nic felt a sharp pain in the left side of his chest. He looked over to see a knife imbedded in his chest. Blood soaked his shirt, he tried to pull the knife out but his strength failed him. Nic now knew he was not completely invincible. He started to shake, out of fear and pain.
"NIC!!" Athena screamed. She ran over to him, tears started pouring down her cheeks.
Nic held his hand out to her, when she placed her hand in his all of Nic's fear went away.
"Pull it out." Nic said weakly.
"But I ca-"
"You can." Nic interrupted.
Nic looked up to the sky only to notice arrows flying towards their enemy's taking all of them out. He brought his attention back to Athena. She gripped the handle of the knife and pulled with all her force. Nic gasped in pain and held his hand to his chest. The bleeding didn't stop, and the last thing Nic heard was Athena calling out for help.
