Chapter 22

Nic opened his eyes and noticed they where no longer moving. Athena, Reyna and Albero where already awake and looking out the window. Athena's skin color had changed so much since they went to sleep. She was now about the same shade of tan he was, she looked more human but she was still beautiful. Her black hair hung a little past her shoulders. Reyna hadn't changed much, only her hairstyle which was in a bun.

"Where are we at?" Athena asked.

"Inside a big bowl?" Reyna answered.

Nic looked at Reyna and raised his eyebrows "We're in the Colosseo."

Albero pushed a button and the door to the ship opened and stairs folded out. Tourists where walking around taking pictures but they apparently didn't notice The Flying Rainbow Unicorn. Athena was holding tightly on to Nic's hand, she looked nervous and uncomfortable. People kept starring at Reyna, her smiling and waving like a madman didn't help much. Athena smacked Reyna's arm down.

"What!?" Reyna gaped.

"You look like an idiot." Nic said patting her shoulder.

"Excuse you!" Reyna went to walk toward Nic but Athena grabbed her shoulder.

"Don't make me hurt a cripple." Nic joked.

"Guys look." Albero pointed.

They all looked in the direction of where he was pointing. Jake and Cassandra were standing towards the entrance of the Colloseo. Jake had his leg wrapped up in bandages, but it seemed like the bleeding still hadn't stopped since it was bloody. Cassandra had her arm wrapped around Jake helping him walk. Nic couldn't hid his anger, he wished he could walk over there a put a end to all of this.

Athena looked over at him and tried to get his attention but he was concentrated on one thing, Jake. Nic walked a few steps forward but before he got any closer he grabbed his chest and fell to his knees.

The pain was excruciating it was like he got stabbed again. His vison dimmed and he couldn't hear anything. Nic looked up at Cassandra who was also collapsed on the ground with a whole group of people around her. Albero pushed Athena away and leaned down beside Nic saying something he couldn't make out. Albero grabbed Nic and jerked him back a few feet. Nics vison cleared and the pain stopped, Albero looked at him and sighed.

"What just happened?" Nic groaned.

"I have no idea." Albero responded.

"Nic, voi formaggio?" Athena asked. {You cheese?}

Nic laughed and stood up, "Yeah I'm cheese."

"Huh?"

"Nothing."

Albero sat down on the ground and entered full thinking mode. Cassandra and Jake were still in the Colosseo, Jake was holding his thigh and he looked like he was in pain. Nic felt no remorse for Jake, he hoped that his leg would rot off. It sounds cruel but all the things Jake had done to him, he deserved it. Albero stood up and wipped his pants off. Reyna was tinkering with her fake foot, shoving more cloth in it and scrapping mud off it. Albero got her attention and helped her up.

"I have a plan." Albero cleared his throat. "We follow them to their hideout and I will call upon the trees to help us in battle once we are ready."

"Sounds good to me." Athena smirked.

"Call upon the trees?" Nic mocked "What are trees going to do, Give us some shade??"

"Don't underestimate the power of trees dude." Albero responded.

"Let Albero call upon his trees if it gets hot outside, even in battle one must stay cool." Nic laughed.

"Nic , chiudi quella cazzo di bocca..." Albero sighed. {Nic, shut the f**k up...}

"Alright, alright. Calm down." Nic replied.

Athena pulled Nic away and scolded him.

"You have to be easy with him Nic! Athena whispered. "He's still upset about Raphael."
"I know, I was just trying to lighten the mood." Nic sighed.

Athena smiled at him and grabbed his hand. Nic leaned down and kissed her on her forehead.

"Guys their leaving!" Reyna warned

Nic leaned up and ran over to Reyna and Albero with Athena by his side. Cassandra was basically carring Jake to wherever they were headed. Ran to the ship and grabbed all of their weapons, she tossed Nic his sword and guns. She handed Reyna her sword and bow, Albero already has his weapons so Athena just placed hers in their holsters.

Jake and Cassandra were walking so slow they would have enough time to catch up.

"We will stay a ways back to make sure they won't see us." Albero mumbled.

"Good plan." Nic replied.

Albero took the lead and Reyna insisted to take up the back. Cassandra kept looking it wouldn't be long until they spotted them, unless they already did and were leading them all somwhere. They only thing that bothered Nic was when he got closer to Cassandra. He couldn't figure out what happened or how to keep it from happening.

They stayed on the same road for about ten minutes, they where about to pass the Foro Romano which ment they where probably headed toward the Pantheon. Then he remembered that they left their ship in the middle of the Colosseo. So Nic got closer to Albero and whispered to him.

"Umm what about the ship?"

"It's got a camouflage setting no one will see it. Well unless they run into it." Albero whispered.

"We saw it." Nic pointed out.

"I'll explane later, their passing that building." Albero coughed.

They slowed down and watched them for a moment. Nic looked over and saw the Piazza Venzia to the right which was the central hub of Roma. It is a really spectacular place since he grew up here he has never went to it. Athena wrapped her hand around his. If they were headed to the Pantheon they had a few more minutes of walking to do. Nic noticed the Pantheon was very close by now so he pulled everybody to the side.

"We can't just waltz up in there, especially since she's purple." Nic pointed at Reyna. "Its a church for crying out loud."

"I agree, but what can we do?" Reyna asked.

"We need a disguise, be right back." Nc mumbled and walked away.

Nic walked up to a group of priests and they handed him what looked like clothes in a duffel bag. Nic ran back across the street and held the bag up to them.

"Put these cassocks on." Nic said.

"Well that was easy." Reyna commented.

"Don't ask." Nic laughed.

The cassocks, or robes, covered their skin completely other than their faces and hands. Reyna volunteered to stay outside of the Pantheon to watch.

Nic, Athena and Albero walked into the Pantheon together and kept their distance from Cassandra. Nic felt pain run through his chest, he couldn't get any further away from Cassandra so he would have to deal with it. Athena must had noticed Nic was in pain because she was looking at him with worry in her eyes. She squeezed his hand and she looked at him as if asking him of he was okay. Nic tried to smile and nodded his head. Before they new it Jake was standing at the front of the Pantheon with a bunch of people around him. Everyone who was in there was starting to leave even all the priests.

Cassandra's eye caught Nics face and she gave him a smirk before turing to Jake and whispering to him. Jake motioned to one of his goons and he pushed Nic forward. Nic immediately fell to the ground in pain and so did Cassandra.

"What the hell is going on!?" Jake demanded

"They can't get close to each other it seems" One of the men replied.

"Well it seems like I've found a way to kill him." Jake laughed.

Nic stood up fighting the pain and launched himself at Jake.
