"Cassandra! Cassandra please.. No!"
Nic cried. He tried to heal her but it didn't work, she was dead. All he could think about was how she wanted to grow old and have kids, but now she couldn't. He stroked her bloodied hair, devastated. Then anger surged over him when he saw a hologram of Jake standing in front of him smiling. Nic picked up a metal piece and threw it at the wall yelling, "YOU!" as he pointed at the hologram of Jake. "YOU DID THIS I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL KILL YOU!" The hologram disappeared as Jake started laughing. Nic looked over and saw where he had thrown the piece of metal. There was a dent in the steel wall about six inches deep.
Then unbearable pain waved over him. He fell over gasping in pain. The pain was all throughout his body, he could feel the cells in his body being replaced. Nic could feel his cells everyone of them changing becoming more power. How he could feel all his cells he did not know. But the pain was becoming more and more intense.
His muscles started to stretch and become larger, but the more his body changed the more painful it was. He was launched against the wall by his own body; the power that was in him
"It should only last a little while" Jake laughed over an intercom. Nic tried eagerly to catch his breath.
"What.." He gasped, "what have you done to me!?" Nic's body began to glow faintly.
"This is going better than I expected." Jake said half to himself, "Nic, you will be the most powerful living thing in the universe. Join me and I will show you how to use your power."
Nic thought about it but he knew that he couldn't do that he had to avenge Cassandra. He had to kill Jake and save other people from what he could do. Even through all the pain he knew.
"No" Nic said weakly, about to pass out, "I will never join you! You did this to me and you killed Cassandra and I will kill you!" Nic tried to make his voice as threatening as possible but he was very weak from the agonizing pain.
"Fine," Jake puffed, "But I will send you someplace you will never find me."
Nic heard a beeping sound and before he passed out he gasped, "Coward."
