~ Jocelyn's P.O.V. ~
After I heard the cops' voices I went into overdrive. I dragged everyone over to one corner of the room, the one farthest away from the door.
"Everyone stay here, and be as quiet as possible." I look at everyone, from Alyssa on the far right to Niall on the far left. I try to give a slight smile as I head over to the door.
"This is day I've been waiting for my entire life. Something good is about to happen. I can feel it," I say, emphasizing the word feel.
Niall's eyes widen. "I don't want you to go out there. I can't have you getting hurt. It's one thing if I die, but if you die.. I need you."
My heart drops at his small speech. Tears start to fall but I quickly wipe them from my eyes. I walk over to him and quickly kiss him.
"I will try my best to stay alive, but I need to make sure my mom doesn't get to keep breathing the same air."
"I love you," he kisses my forehead. I say I love you back and open the door. There's a loud crash and yelling coming from downstairs.
"Jocelyn!" Alyssa says. I turn back towards her.
"Yeah?" I ask. She half smiles toward me.
"Stay safe. I need you to stay safe."
"I promise."
I finally take one last deep breath before heading out the door, closing it behind me. I lean up again the wall next to my bed.
I hear the door open. I quickly turn my head towards the the door. "You're not going alone."
"Thank you Lou," I hugged him. I'm surprised he's speaking again. He hugs me.
"I missed you Jocelyn. I just went numb, but I can't do that to myself, or to you guys. I'm sorry. I love you," he tears up.
"I love you too," I smile. Then we hear another crash. We instantly look down the stairs. We hear voices again.
"You aren't going to stop me!" my mother yells. I start to run down the stairs, Louis follows.
"No!" I hear Niall yell from the top of the stairs. My mind buzzes with adrenaline. I don't know which way to go.
I look up towards Niall, his eyes pleading. I look down towards my mother and the two cops, fighting for their lives.
I walk down one more stair, tears falling from my eyes. I choose going downstairs, because Niall's life is more important than mine.
If I have to, I will sacrifice myself, so he may live instead.
"I love you," I whisper.
"But I love you more," Niall wraps his arms around my body, causing me to jump. I miss the step and fall. All the way to the bottom of the stairs.
"No Jocelyn!" Niall and Louis yell in unison.
My whole body aches in pain. I hear the sound of two gunshots. The noise echoes in my ears, over and over.
I look up to see the two cops, dead. I scream in horror. Pure terror. I quickly pick my small body off the ground and run into the living room as my mom chases me.
I pick up one of the cop's guns. And i put my finger on the trigger, ready to shoot.
