~ Niall's P.O.V. ~
Jocelyn hasn't moved in days. I can still get her to eat, but she won't move. She keeps repeating 'he said he loved me' and I haven't figured out why.
I miss the old her. I loved those few months where we didn't have to worry about her mom too much. She's ruined her.
And I will always hate her mom because of that. Jocelyn deserves all the happiness in the world.
Louis has been very depressed these past few days as well. He won't stop beating himself up by saying that it was all his fault. That it was his fault Connor isn't alive.
"Niall?" I hear a voice and come back to reality.
"Yeah?" I look up and see Liam standing there.
"Louis is having another meltdown. I don't know what to do anymore."
Oh yeah, we're back in our house. Our broken house. It holds so many memories, good and bad.
"Louis!" I raise my voice as I walk to his room, where he always seems to be.
"It's all my fault!!" he screams. This is reoccurring, as this happened just eight hours before. None of us have gotten much sleep.
I sit down next to him and firmly grab his arms. "It isn't your fault. Connor would have died, whether if you were there or not. It's her fault that he's dead," I say referring to Emily. (Jocelyn's mom's name is Emily)
"But I could've saved him! And I failed," he cries into my shoulder. I pat his back and lift him up onto his bed. He struggles about as I do so, causing me to almost drop him.
"Stay calm Lou," I say as calmly as I possibly can.
It's been a struggle for me not to lose my mind throughout this journey. I could've never done it without my friends. No, not just my friends, they are my family.
I finally get him onto his bed and pull his sheets over him. He closes his eyes and cries quietly, with his face in the pillow.
I walk out of Louis' room and sit down in the hallway with my back against the wall.
I think about what has happened and how much our lives have changed in just the past week. Thinking over everything, I suddenly become angry.
I call 9-1-1. They didn't seem to bother talking to us much, after what's happened. And Emily deserves to die.
"9-1-1 what is your emergency?"
"My girlfriend's mother shot our best friend," I begin to stutter. Almost forgetting what I wanted to say.
"Do you have a description of the mother?"
"Uhm yes. Her name is Emily Hastings. About 5'4. She has blonde curly hair, and green eyes. And she wears this brown leather jacket all the time," I say trying to describe her as best as possible.
"Thank you, sir. We will send out officers straight away, and we'll keep in touch if we find any evidence. Goodbye."
"Bye," I mumble. I become slightly happier knowing they're back out to find her again.
I head back into my room and lay on my bed. I stare up at my ceiling and imagine being outside looking at the beautiful stars.
There's a knock on my door. "Come in."
I look up and see Jocelyn walk in. Her eyes are bloodshot as she sits on the edge of my bed.
I don't say anything as I engulf her in a comforting hug. She cries into my shoulder, letting out once again all the pain she tries to keep inside.
I pull her closer into my body and wrap my blankets around her. "I love you," I whisper in her ear.
She smiles faintly at the statement. "I love you more."
I laugh, holding onto her tightly. She's my world and I will never let go. I will always keep her safe.
sorry that my chapters have been so short! i've been super busy with school because i'm working on a research paper. but i hope you enjoy! love you ♥️
