After we confirmed the plan, having to go over it multiple time for the idiots in the guardians of the galaxy crew or whatever, we split up into our designated spots, waiting for my previous captor to arrive.
I was to be with Strange, the one that would be the strongest to defend the Time Stone if he were to die.
I take a deep and long breath as I watch a black and blue portal form and Thanos walks out. He's just as I remember; tall, purple, and ugly. However, he has the gauntlet on his hand.
"Oh, yeah." Strange starts from next to me. "You're much more of a Thanos."
I sit back slightly, trying to appear nonchalant, even though I am absolutely terrified. We sit on the demolished stairs that lead to a run down structure.
The titan glances at me, his head cocking slightly.
"I take it the Maw is dead."
"Yep." I say while crossing my legs. "Glad to say that I helped with that."
"Ah...Tallias. Always a pleasure, I see you haven't learned how to hold your tongue." Thanos lets out a sigh. "This day extracts a heavy toll."
I shrug in response, watching as he starts to near us.
"Still, he accomplished his mission."
"You may regret that." Strange says, seeing as Thanos eyes his necklace. "He brought you face to face with the Master of the Mystic Arts."
I resist the urge to snort, I don't really understand what that title means, however it makes me want to chuckle.
"You're also facing one of the most powerful beings in the universe." He says while sending me a glance.
My brows furrow, I wish that everyone would just tell me what the hell is going on, instead of hinting at my potential. So, I grit my teeth and hold my tongue. I can bother the sorcerer about it later.
"And where do you think he brought you?" Thanos asks.
"Your home?" I say.
"It was." Thanos closes his fist, a red hue emitting from it as he uses the Reality Stone. I watch as the devastated landscape changes into a vibrant, healthy one. "Titan was like most planets. Too many mouths, not enough to go around. And when we faced extinction, I offered a solution."
"Genocide." I spit out.
"But random, dispassionate, fair to rich and poor alike. They called me a madman. And what I predicted came to pass." I watch as he gets rid of the illusion, the deserted and destroyed buildings returning.
"Congratulations, you're a prophet." Strange says.
"I'm a survivor." I roll my eyes at this, hoping we can start to get a move on.
"Who wants to murder trillions."
"With all six stones, I could simply snap my fingers. They would all cease to exist. I call that mercy."
"I have a suggestion..." I start while leaning forward.
Talia...be smart. Peter says to me, which I obviously ignore.
"Why don't you just snap your fingers, and double the resources? Then no one has to die. Instead of being a goddamn murderer, you could be a hero."
Thanos seems to consider what I said, but then he shakes his head. "It's a never ending loop. Double the resources, the population continues to grow, you run out of space. Doesn't solve the overall issue."
I sigh, at least I tried to talk him out of it.
"Afterwards," he starts again. "I'd finally rest, and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe. The hardest choices require the strongest wills."
