A pretty uneventful week had passed, us injured folk were kept inside, healing. The others went out and continued to scout out possible Hydra facilities, and they actually found one in Maine and took it down. Wanda and Thor had went in, getting the kill switch.
I've been staying inside and maybe going out on my balcony to read, letting Alpine hang out with me. The goat was, thankfully, taken care of by Wanda when Bucky and I were out of it. So, we've been making sure to spend time with her.
James and I have also slept together for the past week.
Not slept, but as in share a bed. While sleeping.
There's something about it...that makes me feel comfortable, and I've been getting the most sleep I've ever gotten before. It's been really nice. No nightmares, just peaceful dreams, which is a first for me.
Peter and I have texted, him updating me about school and all that, while I've been working with Bucky to further our knowledge about agents at Hydra. We've updated our boards and lists, making sure to keep track.
Another thing: we haven't kissed or anything. The only thing that hints at our feelings towards each other, is the whole sharing a bed thing. Nothing else has happened.
I'm not...mad about it. I just find it interesting, when James came at me while I was with someone, and then now that I'm not...he does nothing.
It's just...whatever.
But...now...I'm actually waiting at a diner to meet Danika for lunch. We had wanted to get together, but then the whole 'being sedated for four days' put a pin in that plan.
So we're doing it now.
I had pulled my hair back into two dutch braids, Nat teaching me how to tie the ends back together at the base of my head. I'm honestly enjoying this style, she said that she had learned how to do it when she was a lot younger. I'm wearing a simple pale yellow sweater and some jeans, a nice cup of coffee in my hand as I wait for Danika to get here.
A bell jingles as the door to the restaurant opens, and I lean over to my left, looking around the booth to see a familiar woman with dark hair. Her lips move as she talks to the hostess, the employee turning to point near me. I wave with a smile, watching as Danika sees me and thanks the hostess, then starts coming over to me.
"Hey!" She says as she nears me and pulls me into a hug.
"How have you been?" I ask while she slides into the seat across from me.
"Good...busy with work."
"Same, everything with Hydra has just been taking over my mind."
"I can only imagine," she starts to flip through the menu. "did you order anything yet?"
"No, I wanted to wait till you got here."
"Okay...but yeah, has there been any headway with taking them down?"
"Uh, sort of." I scan over the menu as I debate on what to tell her. "We were able to take down a few recently, but our contacts have notified us that there's still many around the globe. So, it's a slow process. The goal is to hopefully be done with this by the new year, but that's a stretch."
"Yeah, I feel like they're very persistent. If you guys ever need backup, I know my unit wouldn't mind going in."
"I didn't know you were in the field?" I look up at her.
"Sort of. I just moved up to level 5, so I'm an active field agent if needed."
"Ooo, congrats!" She thanks me and we turn to our waitress as she comes over.
