2:30 pm
About three hours later, Julia and I had been wondering around the mall all day.
"Jules can we go and get something to eat?" I ask as my stomach rumbles.
"Yes, yes of course" she smiles and skips along to the food court.
As we reach the food court, the aromas of Tim Hortans coffee, New York Fries poutine and Subway subs, fill my nostrils and I take a deep inhale through my nose.
"So what do you want?" I ask Julia, gesturing to the many different fast-food restaurants surrounding us.
"Hmm..." Julia hesitates and looks around.
"Wendy's?" I suggest.
"Sure" she exclaims and skips over and gets in line.
She orders a garden salad and I order a Baconator. We find a two-seater table in the far right corner and sit to eat. She talks to me about her newest boyfriend and how"adorable" they are. While she talking I am lost in my Baconator, the bacon is greasy and crispy, just how I like it and the burger is done medium-rare, it's like they made this specifically to my liking.
A few more dreadful hours passed by. My feet hurt from walking and my hands hurt from carrying all of Julia's bags. I was staring at my feet, trying not to pass out and Julia squeals, running to Bath and Body Works. As soon as we even come close to the store the wave of girlie fragrances overwhelms me. I scrunch up my nose and take a deep inhale of clean oxygen and walk into Bath and Body Works. After about twenty minutes, Julia decides on two huge peach BathBombs, four on-the-go Hand Sanitizers and three smaller green apple BathBombs.
"Alright, do you want to go home?" Julia asks as we walk back into the clean, unscented air. I sigh.
"I don't really, but I don't want to stay here either" I say glaring at the doorway.
"I would say you could come over, but I'm going to my aunts tonight..sorry Cass" she says in a monotone.
"It's fine" I add. "Just take me home then" I sigh slightly, knowing that my parents will be there.
We walk out the glass doors and find that it's snowing. Again. And had been for quite some time because the snow had built up to midway up my calves. Trudging through the ice old snow we finally made it to the recently plowed parking lot. Making our way to her firetruck red Malibu, we placed our bags in the trunk and back seats. I climbed into the passenger side, kicking my feet on the side of the car before closing the door.
She drove me home and I noticed that my parents car was in the driveway.
"Oh yay.." I say in a sarcastic tone.
"I am really sorry Cass.." Julia starts talking but then trails off.
"It's fine Jules" I say giving her an awkward, sideways hug, then unbuckling my seat belt and getting out of the car. I open the back door and grab my few bags, then head inside.
