11:24 am
I go down stairs and grab a stroller from the back room. Then when I get upstairs I see Mason standing in the middle of the living room, holding Austin up in the air. I can see the smilies on both of their faces and it makes my cheeks go red. Mason catches a glimpse of me out of the corner of his eye and brings Austin back down to his chest.
"You're so good with him" I say smiling.
"Well thank you" he replies as he walks over to me with a grin.
I grabbed Austin and put him into his snowsuit. As I turn around with Austin in my arms Mason is standing there holding Austin's hat and mitts. I smirk as I watch Mason put them on Austin. Then Mason takes him and fastens Austin into his stroller seat. Then he and I walk to the door and place on our boots and I put on my jacket.
"Aren't you going to freeze?" I say chuckling a little bit as Mason doesn't have a coat.
"No" he says laughing "it's not even cold."
"It is so. It's negative twelve degrees outside." I say "put on a jacket."
Mason laughs a little and looks at Austin. He puts his open hands up and starts walking backward.
"Looks like Cassy's motherly instincts are coming out" and he laughs turning to walk out to his car.
I laugh and then grab the handle of the stroller. I push the stroller through the open door and leave it on driveway in front of Mason's car. Then I jog back inside, grabbing the spare key off the table. I walk out, close the door and then lock it. I place the key under the "welcome" mat and then walk to the stroller.
"Happy now mama bear?" Mason says laughing as he closes the car door and puts on a dark purple sweater.
"Yes" I say laughing and pushing the stroller towards him.
I look over at Mason and he is staring at me from the corners of his eyes and smiles. I blush and then refocus my attention on walking forward and pushing the stroller.
We kept walking down the street, making small talk as we went. I let my hand that is closest to Mason dangle by my side. I look down at it and then look back forward again.
All of a sudden I can feel Mason's fingertips run along my wrist and then interlock themselves between mine. I hold his hand and look at him. He smiles and continues walking. All of my worries have vanished, anything that was on my mind prior to this moment have disappeared. It is although Mason and I are the only two people on the planet. It feels as though time has stopped. And I don't want this moment to end.
